Gift ideas needed

My mom is turning 60 in July and we don't know what to get her.  My sister is flying in and we are going to dinner but I want to get her something nice because she has done so much for me and DH, like pay for a big chunk of the wedding.  But she is really hard to shop for, she doesn't wear a lot of jewelry and she always says she has too much stuff.  I know that more than anything she wants a grandchild, but short of that does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Gift ideas needed

  • what about a massage, or a mani/pedi

you guys could pull together a bunch of old pictures of her childhood/growing up/marriage/the kids/etc. and put them together in a digital picture frame for her

you and your sister can take her out for a mother/daughter day and do a movie/lunch/shopping or something else fun like that

does she have a particular hobby that you could get her something for?

I know you said she's not much into jewelry but this is nice

and then there's always the whole grandkid thing Wink (i kid, i kid)

     hope that helps :)

  • I think an experience is the best gift. Is there anything new that she wants to try?

I agree- my mom and I took a cooking class at the CIA for her birthday a few years back, and it was an awesome day.

My grandparents are very hard to shop for and for their 50th anniversary, I made a scrapbook of their lives from childhood to present. My grandma is not sappy and wasn't super impressed with it (she's hard to please) but everyone else (and I'm guessing your mom may appreciate it) loved it and said how thoughtful it was...

Yep. I agree with this wholeheartendly. Something she could do with her girls. :-) Mommies want nothing more than time with their kids,.. no matter how old they are.
