Stand Mixer Question...

So, during my move I laid my stand mixer on it's side in one of my bins.  When it got to it's storage destination I took it out of the bin and oil was pooled beneath it!!  PLEASE tell me I didn't just destroy my mixer!!!  Has this every happened to anyone else?  Should I just try using it as normal, take it apart and re-oil it, or see if the company will do it for me?  I really don't want to lose my stand mixer!!!!

Re: Stand Mixer Question...

  • Oh dear. Hasn't happened to me, but I would certainly worry that it won't work properly or only work for a short time until it burns out.  if you're mechanicallly inclined you could take it apart and see what happens.  Good luck! Let me know what happens! I just got a new stand mixer that I'm in LOVE with! I feel your pain.
  • I would contact the maker (kitchen aid, cuisinart) and ask them, there may be something specific you need to do to make it work okay.
