Have any of you used a dog trainer in the Charlotte area? Our boxer needs a course in manners so we are trying to find one now. TIA!

    I've never used them for manners, but I've heard decent things about Petsmart??

    Looks like we are going to try The Dog Wizard. Our Boxer has been out of control due to energy that he can't release. Daycare once a week isn't cutting it and now he is counter surfing and acting out. With a baby on the way, we want to make sure he will be a happy member of our family. Crossing fingers this works.

    How old is your boxer?  Are you far from Monroe?  I LOVE dog psychology and training.  I wouldn't do PetSmart puppy or manner classes just because it's not as personal.  They do offer private sessions, but you only have 4 classes to get in all the work you need done.  I've owned a dog who we were taking for private lessons at PetSmart and they asked us to give the dog away because he was far too aggressive to handle (for anyone).  I went from there to NC State vet school to see a dog behaviorist for a year and learned a lot before we ultimately had to have our dog put down.  We have a lab-boxer now that is perfectly trained by my hubby and I.  She's amazing.  If you have any questions, message me-I'm here for you because it's not easy!
