I become the proud new parent to an Iphone! We finally got around to combining our service plans into one bill, so we could switch to a family talk plan. I was eligible for a new phone upgrade and was desperately in need of one (had my phone for 2 years and it stopped working properly after 3 months). We went in planning to get me the Samsung Impression, but DH fell victim to Apple's spell! I made sure he was aware that we were buying a phone for ME, not him, and he fully understood, and wanted to get the Iphone anyway, so you're definitely not going to see me complain!
I said all along I would never need a phone with a data plan, and now that I've had it for less than 20 hrs, I can already see this thing changing my life! :-)
Who has one? Do you LOVE it (or hate it)? Anything I should know? Any apps I can't live without??
Re: Here's what happens when DH goes to AT&T store....
dh and I have a hate/hate relationship with at&t. we had horrible, horrible customer service and coverage with them. the only reason we got out of the ridiculous cancellation fee was b/c they had on record where we called something like 40 times over 6 months w/ complaints and even then dh had to argue with them so we wouldn't have to pay.
i've heard good and bad about the iphone itself. the bad mainly has to do w/ the fact that they are with at&t. I also heard at&t raised the early cancellation fee b/c people are really unhappy with their service and they want to make it harder to get out of your contract.
but a lot of people do love them and I think they are wonderful products. I'm sure if I had a smart phone I'd never go back..that's probably why it's best for me to never have one. haha
hope it works out good for you!
I love my Iphone and I love having the internet to check here, twitter, FB, my email, blogs, games, etc. Mine also has youtube, weather, maps, etc loaded on it.
I have not had any problems with At&T. Sometimes the coverage is bad in certain areas but they were bad in that area even when I had verizon. AT&T has always been helpful to us, but I guess everyone is different.
George wishes the Iphone was with verizon, but until they get there we will keep AT&T.
Strange! I've have AT&T for 10 years and never had a problem with coverage. In fact, I have always had better coverage than my friends on Verizon, Sprint, and MetroPCS. Maybe it's a perk of living in the same place as AT&T's headquarters?
Lauren - I've also read about AT&T increasing their fee to break the contract. They haven't done it yet, but it's about to increase to $350 or something like that. As much as it sucks, there's really no way around it because all of the big companies have the same contract terms. The smaller companies with no contracts have really poor coverage (at least in this area). :-( I hate monopolies!!
Heather - good news! Read yesterday that the Iphone is supposed to be available on all networks within the next 6 months or so :-)
I LOVE my iphone. I can seriously not ever be without a phone with a data plan now.
I never had a problem with AT&T either (customer service or coverage), and I had them for years before I switched to be with DH on Sprint. But they were awful! so we switched back to AT&T last year when the contract was up.

Charlotte Lillian will be forever in our hearts.
Baby #3 - Little Bean - natural miscarriage - 1/17/11 @ 5w5d
I have CellularSouth which is a MS company and I get much better service than T with At&T but in some places where I get bad service he gets good service. So really I am glad we have both companies since our cells are the only lifeline we have.
Heather someone told me that Verizon is going to be getting the iphone in the next couple of months.
It's black. I'm going to get a cover for it tonight, but still want something toned down and understated (just something professional)
I got the black one too. I got the pink rubber case, but I think eventually I'll switch to a harder one.
DH and I both have iPhones and love them. I've never had service problems with AT&T, and I've only had customer service problems when I had to call their 1-800 number. They're always very helpful in the store. We've each had a problem that required us calling Apple to fix, and they are always helpful.
As for Apps, I'll have to look through mine and msg you on FB. I have a ton! One of my favorites is Pandora though.
