A friend of mine dog was bitten last night by what they think is a rattle snake on the nose. The poor puppy is swolen but doing ok as of this morning. They were fortunate enough and saw it happen and rushed her to the emergency vet so she was able to receive treatment shortly after it happened, which I think made all the difference in the world. She was given 1 vial of anti-venom and is responding to that. She was very lucky since another dog came in shortly after and needed 5 vials.
I can't imagine how they feel and I would be a basket case.
If you have any extra T&P please send them their way.
Also, watch your dogs and cats! It's snake bite season and the vets are saying it seems worse this year.

Poor puppy! I hope he feels better fast!
My little dog kills snakes and it always terrifies me one will be poisonous.
Dexter is so curious I just know he'd go to sniff whatever was making the noise and get bit.
He loves playing/sniffing with frogs but we keep him from actually licking them.
