... is pretty unique to you.
(The tea post made me think of this.) My parents are big tea drinkers (as their parents before them). The other day someone asked me when I started getting into tea and I replied, "Oh I used to get it in my sippy cup when I was a toddler."
Turns out that isn't so normal! I never really thought twice about it, but yea it is kind of odd to give a toddler tea! Granted, I got it with lots of milk and sugar mixed in.
Any similar stories?

Re: Share a childhood experience that...
I lived with grandparents for a while - some kids didn't get that. And when I got adopted, no kid knew what that meant either. LOL They couldn't understand that I had two sets of parents.
I had two eye surgeries when I was a kid -- one when I was 9 and one when I was 10.
That's the only unique thing that I can think of about my super typical childhood.
It was never a big deal for me growing up to have a sip of wine or beer. I never got a full glass, but when I was about 11 or 12, at special occasions, I would be allowed about a 1/4 of a glass of wine.
I remember one time Grandma and I ate a box of dark chocolates that had beer in them! They were in the shape of beer barrels and were SO good!!
My Grandma is from Germany, and my mom was born there. I guess in Germany that wouldn't be a big deal, but I remember my friends being shocked!
The plus side of that is that I didn't go out with friends looking for alcohol. It wasn't a big deal for me.
Now? I'm a girl who LOOOOOVES a good glass of wine!
I know what wine you like
Did you like wearing uniforms?

Not at all. And I was always jealous of all my friends that had regular clothes in addition to their school uniforms too. I even went to a Catholic high school for 2 years and they had a very strict dress code which I hated even more. When I went to public school for my last 2 years of high school (my choice) it was SO nice to be able to wear whatever I wanted.
I wasn't allowed to wear pants period until I was in like 6th grade - it was skirts or culottes and I did NOT go to a religious school lol. I was raised strict baptist and the church did not allow pants on women. Let's just say I was not heartbroken when my parents chose to leave that church.
Did you go to strict Baptist church as in southern Baptist or what? I remember culottes and hated those darn things when my grandmother thought they were cute on me. Puke LOL
What the heck is a "culotte?"

They were like really wide leg shorts - cut to below the knee. At my church if we kneeled they were supposed to touch the ground. I guess similar to Gauchos, though not nearly as trendy haha.
And not southern baptist - but from what I hear it was similar in strictness. We weren't allowed to dance, go to the movies, listen to "secular" music, wear pants, and the only TV I was allowed to watch was the Disney channel and christian movies. It was normal to me because I grew up that way, but looking back it seems pretty extreme. All my friends made fun of me, and I hated it.
My parents have neighbors like that. On Sundays they are not allowed to change clothes so it is really funny to see them playing basketball in the driveway wearing suits and dresses- haha. They are pretty nice, but kind of boring.
The best experience we had with them was one night around midnight it was pouring rain and my parents patio was flooding so that the water was coming inside the sliding door to the living room. My mom woke up, ran down stairs and was bailing out buckets of water by the door. The neighbour heard her calling to my dad and ran over to help. They bailed for about 20 minutes until the rain calmed down and the water level was low enough that it wasn't seeping inside anymore.
My mom thanked the neighbour for helping out and as soon as he left she realized she had her nightgown tucked into her underwear the whole time! Our poor conservative neighbour got quite an eyeful! hahaha.

Now that cracks me up
Not sure if it's unique, but a funny story that my mom likes to repeat.
I was rather old when I gave up my bottle -- i was big enough to make a bottle of tang.
At Chirstmas we gave my bottle to baby Jesus in the nativity seen, because he didn't have one.
