I hope I can get some help from you ladies. DH and I are trying to plan our honeymoon and we picked New York/NYC for our destination. I know, it's not the typical place to go to but it somewhere we both want to go.
So I am asking for any suggestions on what to do and stay. We are active people so lounging/kicking up our heals is not in it for us. Looking at the first couple weeks of August to go since it's between my classes.
TIA.

Re: New York-honeymoon
I love it there, but I haven't been since I was 13, so I'm not much help on where to stay. H and I were planning on going last summer and didn't make it because we moved to GA earlier than we thought we would.
If I were to go, I would see a broadway play, go to Central Park (I'm a landscape architect, so this probably means a lot more to me than most people lol). And I found this back when we were looking at going and saved it for some reason, so here ya go http://nymag.com/travel/visitorsguide/37579/
oooh and I would check out the Highline! http://www.thehighline.org/about/park-information
It's this really awesome new park that James Corner has done, turning an old rail line of NYC into a public greenspace, situated above ground level, so you get some cool views without walking on the really crowded streets. It's supposed to be a great place to relax in the summer because of all of the interesting niches he's created. *jealous*
i would definitely go to a show (i still have never gone to broadway, but i really want to go), and go to central park.
I'd go to china town, and if you're baseball fans, check out a yankee or mets game.
just a heads up though, august in the city can get really sticky and sweaty. plan on taking lots of showers haha.
hi! i live in ny!!!!
melko is right, august in nyc is gross! but if you can deal with the heat theres tons to do. bdwy shoes, double decker bus tours, statue of liberty/ellis island boat rides and tours, south st sea port, boat tours around the city, a high speed boat tour called the shark i think. thats fun but you get soaked lol baseball games, cool museums etc etc. so many things to do!
