XP: I Need Dog Name Inspiration (PIP!)
We pick up our little guy on Friday (pix below!) and still haven't picked a name for him. He's very sweet, laid back, and hardly barks or bays. He's about 25lbs but boy he's a strong fella if he gets a whiff of something he wants to chase! He likes to sit on laps and lay down beside you just chilling.

Inspire me...what's your dog's name and any other ideas?
Initial ideas:
Toby
Marley
Murphy
Kennedy
Buster
Samson (Sammy)
Dug
Shiloh
Jack
Odie
Re: XP: I Need Dog Name Inspiration (PIP!)
For some reason I can't see the pics, but I'll share our dogs names - Cracker Jack & Ginger Snap. Jack & Ginger for short. I've also had an Indie.
What about Mellow? Mel for short. Sounds like his personality.
My dog's name is Spritzi.
Being a beagle mix, the names Beckett and Bartley came to mind. From your list, I really like the name Toby for him.
Awww he's a cutie! I like Jack and what about Chase? Jordan came up with Koda, if it were up to me she would have been an Arie, but I'm really glad we went with Koda bc that definitely fits her. I would try out a couple different names, one will just stick and you'll know its the one.
I'd also like to add that Koda only gets called Koda about 25% of the time. The other times she gets called Pooper, Doopy, Kodarilla, Baby Girl, K P Diddle, ect. The girl has a thousand nick names and she answers to them all! haha
Have fun with your little guy!
He very cute! My first thought when seeing him was Oscar. I also like Oliver (Ollie).
The Fluffy Cat says... "Boxes are the best toys ever invented!"
I'll add that our Ginger started out being a Gonzo until we actually found her - and well, then she was a Ginger. We tried out a few and that one just seemed right for her.
I still want to name a dog Gonzo.
We also saw a really fuzzy big dog named Fozzie over the weekend & I thought that was really awesome.
I came up with another one. What about Miles?
Aww, my dog's name is Odie
Your pup looks cute! Since he's a beagle, I was gravitating toward the "b" names for some reason "Buster" "Beckett" "Bennett". Or maybe Scout. I don't know, that seems like a good dog name. But I suggest against "Buddy". I know like 4 dogs named that.
my blog
Dug! Dug, Dug, Dug!
I met a little boy at VOA who was walking with his Dad and Beagle. The dog's name was Skippy which just struck me as the most perfect name for a little boy's dog. I know you don't have a little boy but now all Beagles are Skippys to me.
The first name I thought of was Baxter. He looks like a Baxter to me.
He's a cutie!
I like the name Scout because being a beagle he's going to follow his nose and "scout everything out". You gotta have a storyor meaning behind the name
perhaps wait until you have her for a few days and see if she (or he) does anything noteworthy that could inspire a great name.
We have a Weimaraner named Nova (ie- Super Nova) because she has sky blue eyes and nighttime gray coat. Our GS is Sascha because we wanted a German name, but most feminine German names sound like I am clearing my throat. Sascha I believe is originally Russian, but used in Germany as well and means "man's defender" which is perfect because she is trained for protection.
We named ours Norton...reason: we both are into computers so we wanted to name it something computerish so Norton won out (Norton antivirus). Is there a movie you guys both like name him after a character in the movie, or a singer. My brothers dogs name is Tinsley (Boyd Tinsley of DMB), my parents old dog was Presley (for Elvis), and current is Callee (for Cal Ripken), They also like cooper (for cooperstown where the baseball hall of fame is). Just a few ideas to throw out there. I like when their names mean something special!
P.S. Yes me and my husband are ultra dorks!!!
omg - how adorable!!!!
When I saw him, I said 'Linus' : )
But I do like Jack too
Jackson
Gus
Hunter
Bailey
