Watched planes AND the storm!

DS and I were at GRR observation area having dinner, watching planes, when we saw the massive column of storm moving in from the northwest. SO cool! We heard the thunder even when it was miles away from raining on us, and got to see lightning dancing around the cloud pillar. And then it dumped on us just as MIL, DS, and I went to get ice cream. Fun times! :)

  • That's very cool! I didn't know there was rain in the area!

  • That rain was crazy. We heared some thunder in the distance so I checked the radar and I told Brian it was nothing, just a green speck over GR. Two minutes later the skies open and downpoured.
  • We didn't get anything here in Muskegon.  All clear skies all evening.
  • That sounds so neat!

We didn't get even a drop of rain here (Comstock Park), but my friend 5 miles away got the downpour.  So strange!

  • We were in Target on Clyde Park. The Target parking lot was dry and the Meijer parking lot (across the street) was soaked! It was definately a hit or miss storm. We saw some awesome lightning too.

  • It was coming in just after our softball game ended, and Andy had rode the motorcycle to work.  We gambled and went for drinks after the game - and it poured while we had a beer and stopped when we left the restaurant.  So it worked out perfectly and Andy didn't get drenched.

    Nice!

We were huddled together in the front seat of my car--which is dangerously low on gas--running the A/C and gobbling our quickly-puddling ice cream while DS poured his all over himself and the seat... Ah, memories. ;)

That's crazy! We don't live too far from there and we didn't get any rain!
