Sorry to be a PW, but...
We are having a birthday party next weekend that includes grilling. However, we are sans grill thus far and trying to decide on one. Any recs about which one and where to buy? We are looking for a gas one, so I'm also a little worried about the install and how that works. Do you need to call someone? If so, who? TIA!
Re: BarBQue Grill?
You do mean an outdoor grill right? I don't know of any that need to be installed... i think they all just have a propane tank?? Which is super easy, you just attach the hose!
Ours has held up pretty well but I have no idea what brand we have...
There are tons of options, the prices can start from $100 and go all the way to the thousands.
Check out Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes for better prices, some of them you have to put it together, which is time consuming (an hour or two) but not hard at all.
Our grill has a feature that DH really likes, it has the infra red burner, it's great for searing. DH was very adamant about the side burner, but we have never used it. So next time I won't pay extra for the side burner!
You just need to go and look at the few, see what features you like, ...
Have fun at your party.
We got an inexpensive one from Home Depot 2 years ago and it's been just fine. I think we paid about $100 and I believe it's a char-broil (brand). It has a side burner (not a sear burner like pp mentioned).
ETA: I think we actually got it at Lowes. I think it's this one.

we have a brinkmann that we like a lot. not sure where we bought it, though, because that was a while ago.
i've recently heard of the big green egg. it's not gas, though. apparently, it's really awesome, but it's expensive.

We've looked a little at Lowe's, Sears and Home Depot, but there are so many to choose from, we didn't know where to start. Any recs on brands and models are welcome. I checked the one you suggested, Leigha, but I think we are looking for a bigger one. It's going to be a gift from my parents for our combined 30th birthdays.
That big green egg looks cool too, but I know DH is set on gas.
we got ours from lowe's and i just hopped on their site and I'm pretty sure we must have a Char-Broil brand grill that was about $125 (ours looks like this one but not positive if its the same one or not http://www.lowes.com/pd_80982-82210-463741510_4294857754_4294937087?productId=3107825&pl=1¤tURL=/pl_Gas%2BGrills_4294857754_4294937087_?rpp=15$No=15_
We purchased it about 4 years ago and have done a poor job of keeping it covered but its held up well until this year and is kinda falling apart but still functions. Not too bad for $100.
Weber of course is a reputable brand.
definitely take a look in person to get an idea about the cooking area (some of them are TINY which makes BBQ with friends/family a pain)
