I so wish I was playing a drinking game where I got to drink every time Mac said "my friends."
Didn't tho.
Sad.
So...
The Girl is 5. The Boy is 2. The Dog is 1.

I am the 99%.
Re: My Friends...
A group of my older colleagues (yep older than me!) use the term "my friend" all the time. I would live drunk at work if I played there!
I guess it is an age thing. And it doesn't bother me because I hear it so much from some really sweet people. In a way I find it endearing so I have a positive reaction when I hear it even from McCain.

Yeah, I'm not bothered by it. I actually think it's nice, kind of a humble way to greet someone. He does say it a lot.
I'm not sure what is a good greeting. "Listen" did not work for Obama.
WORD

I was annoyed by "my friends" and was equally annoyed by Obama saying "listen" or "look" when starting a sentence. That has always annoyed me by both candidates.
Ditto.
FI had to restrain me to keep me from throwing things at the t.v. I'm sorry, John, but you are definitely not "my friend."
