  Last time we went to the beach without the kiddo, I finished all the Shopaholic books and loved them! They're a little silly and don't make you reflect too much of what you've read, but I utterly enjoyed them!

  I love the chick books! I read all of the shopaholic books and a few of Jennifer Weiner's books. Too bad you don't live by me, I have quite a few chick books that are good beach reads. I hope you find something good and have a wonderful time!

  I just finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and I think it would be a great beach read. It was easy reading but also a page-turner. I would definitely recommend!

  I'm reading "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" right now and enjoying that.  I also like the memoirs "Such a Pretty Fat" and "Bitter is the New Black" by Jennifer Lancaster.

  I just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Good so far.  But my fave beach reads are mysteries or fluff like Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series.  Very funny, albeit formulaic.
