So today...

I think they doubled the espresso in my already-two-shot coffee.  I am not to the bottom of the cup and jittery.  They had to tell the lady at the counter 4 times what was in my coffee, so I'm thinking she made it twice.  I don't know. It's going to be a challenge to sit through a 2-hr mtg this afternoon.

What's your randomness today?

  • The big fuzzy Golden Retriever seems to have a pinched nerve or cramped muscle or something. Its happened before, its like he sleeps on it wrong or something?  I dunno, I'm debating on whether I should see if he'll put up with an ice pack (and I WILL take a picture of that), or just take him in to the vet for some yummy anti inflammatory drugs.

    Ran-dom!

  • I'm supposed to be finished up my niece's wedding invitations (our wedding gift to them) but I'm so not motivated.  Which is why I'm here.  I really just want to go take a long walk.  Which I could do sooner if I stopped Nesting and got back to the task at hand.  Okay, back I go...  Yell at me if you see me posting over here again before noon.  :)

  • Today begins our summer Fridays where we get to take off at 2pm!  Woo-hooo!  I think I'm going to spend mine going downtown to get my Holga film developed.

My pup hurt his dew claw yesterday.  I feel like such a bad mom... it's so long but it's black and it's a lot harder to tell where I can cut.  Plus he haaaates having his nails clipped so it's not like I can cut off a little bit at a time.  After one clip, he's traumatized.  We have a dremel but it's beyond that right now.  And his hair is long so it gets caught in the clipper or dremel anyway.  :(:( I hate to see my baby in pain!

It's my friend's last day at work today.  She's leaving to be a SAHM/photographer/blogger/professional organizer/event planner.  I am SO jealous.

  • So last night, I made dinner for the BF and I.  I'd been talking since last week about how I wanted to make our favorite restaurant salad dressing at home, and that I'd found a recipe that looked right.  The recipe included tomatillos, and I was too lazy to track them down in the grocery store.  On the way home from work, I bought a pint of the salad dressing from the restaurant, got home, poured it in a bowl, and presented it without comment.  He said it's better than the restaurant.

My building at work has card-access elevators.  (You have to have a badge to get in, basically.)  This morning I tried swiping my car keys across the access pad thing-y twice before I realized I wasn't swiping my card.  Embarrassed

I've had a headache for two days, and this morning my head felt like it was going to split apart.  I've been blaming allergies, but now I'm starting to wonder if I need to start googling "brain tumor."

Either way, I hope not! Maybe its a closed septum that causes migraines? Taytee has a fun nose story about that one.

Awesome on the dressing thing.. that's hilarious!  I'm glad he thought it was better ;)

  • Guava - you are bad! LOL

I got to work my old shift at work today. I took this (lower paying) job over another one 5 years ago because I loooove the 7am to 4pm shift so much. Because of downsizing almost 2 years ago I got stuck working 10am-7pm. At first, I was thankful to still have a job. Now I'm just bitter.

So I'm covering for another person this morning. I'm so happy to be working 7am to 4pm, I'm working extra hard just to prove how much they *want* me on this shift.

In other words ... I'm working today. Unlike other days where I sit at my desk and think about how much I hate working until 7pm at night.

  • Today my 82 year old PT buddy, June, started rocking out to Paradise City.  It took everything in my power to keep a straight face.
  • I managed to huff and puff through my run this am with DS.  He usually goes back to sleep after his morning feeding but was fussy.  Since H had a rough morning with him yesterday, I figured he could use the break so I took the munchkin for a run with me in hopes to wear him out for H.  That worked until I was ready to leave and he started his normal waking up grunts.  So much for a peaceful morning for H.

And I think I made better time running with him than I do without him.  MAybe it's because I was hauling @ss because I was afraid his good mood would fade and he'd start wailing.  Luckily he stayed quiet until we got home.

I had to drive back and forth between two pharmacies, 4 times to get what I needed.  One pharmacy had some of my meds but didn't have others so they transferred me to another pharmacy to get the other meds. But then THAT pharmacy only had part of what I needed and now they have to call me doctor to get the right prescription. *sigh*

And of course, none of this would even be an issue unless I was pregnant, so I guess in that respect, it's worth the driving around.

But the good thing is that DH is home early and he volunteered to go back to the pharmacy once my doc calls in the right script.

    That is awesome!

  • I need to go to get my inspection sticker for my car before tomorrow.  I don't feel like going.
