Beach Reads

Hi Ladies,

I am heading to the library and B&N today to pick up some books for our trip.  Can you recommend some great beach reads?

I just finished The Host and I love everything from historical fiction (my favorite is A Devil in the White City) to girlie novels (I love Jennifer Weiner's writing).

TIA!

Re: Beach Reads

  • Last time we went to the beach without the kiddo, I finished all the Shopaholic books and loved them! They're a little silly and don't make you reflect too much of what you've read, but I utterly enjoyed them!
  • I love the chick books! I read all of the shopaholic books and a few of Jennifer Weiner's books. Too bad you don't live by me, I have quite a few chick books that are good beach reads. I hope you find something good and have a wonderful time! =)

  • I just finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and I think it would be a great beach read. It was easy reading but also a page-turner. I would definitely recommend!

Have you read the Luxe books?  They're like Hist-Fict meets Gossip Girl, they'd be great for the beach. Paradise

  • I'm reading "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" right now and enjoying that.  I also like the memoirs "Such a Pretty Fat" and "Bitter is the New Black" by Jennifer Lancaster.

  • I just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Good so far.  But my fave beach reads are mysteries or fluff like Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series.  Very funny, albeit formulaic.
  • Many thanks ladies!  I picked up a bunch of these at the library/B&N.  I should have lots to read.

    Have a great week!

  • I know you are on your trip already and I may have told you this before, but if you like historical fiction you should read the Outlander books.  Awesomness. :-)

I loved it.  I was like 7 chapters into the audiobook of DIA when I lost my ipod.  I now have the book at home, I think I may pick that one up next.
