Shoe fashion advice

Since we're going to Disney World I need help choosing a comfortable shoe to walk around all day in. I will probably be carrying a 26lb baby occasionally as well, so I definitely need something comfortable.

I personally can't wear running shoes out-- unless I'm doing something outdoorsy or exercising-- so that's not an option. MH suggested Crocs and when I tried them on, they were pretty comfortable.

Any input? I know there are some nurses on the board and I know a lot of nurses swear by Crocs, so I'm just curious if they live up to the hype. & if you are like me (who swore I'd never buy or wear Crocs out in public), please recommend a comfortable shoe.

Here are my options...

Re: Shoe fashion advice

  • I have a pair of CROCS sandals that I had to pick up while we were honeymooning on the Big Island.  Probably one of the best investments I have ever made. Here they are below.  Except mine are all black, none of that white striping below.  I wear sandals all year long.  So these were necessary because the cute fashionable ones weren't holding up on our honeymoon.  So what is the reason why you wouldn't wear running shoes?  Oh man, I couldn't imagine walking around an amusement park all day w/o good shoes.  I don't even think my wonderful CROCS sandals could help me all day long!

I never wore Crocs before (and like you, never thought I would), but I also never knew they had more stylish designs like these! Voted for #3 based purely on looks since I have no idea how comfy they actually are.

  • Okay, guilty pleasure here but I love Crocs and have several pairs.  I really like #1 and haven't seen them before.  I can personally vouch for #3, I have a similar pair and have pretty much worn them on every vacation in recent history and am always comfortable.  I have Croc flip flops too but really love the style of #3 the most.  I know some people say they are so ugly but the comfort far out weighs the look for me and plus I think that style is pretty cute.

  • I voted for #2 - I don't find walking in heel-less shoes (like #1) comfortable for all day events, and I think #2 looks comfier than #3.
