I thought my house was on fire this morning. My smoke alarm went off and everything. I went outside, my neighbours were in the same predicament. We thought it was the guy who burns brush all the time. Turns out the smoke is from Forest Fires in Quebec. The smoke has made it as far south as Washington DC!

Re: Anyone Else Smoked out?
Holy Crap!
No, it hasn't hit us in Alberta, lol.
We did have a pretty bad brush fire a couple weeks ago that was stinking everything up for awhile.

I think it was because the airflow in our house is really bad. It was only really smokey in one hallway, the window in that hallway was opened and the smoke was being blown right into that hallway and was getting trapped there. It was actually getting quite thick and had it been able to flow through the rest of the house I doubt the alarm would have gone off.
According to the local paper the fire department recieved 100 calls because of this.
