Facebook Pet Peeve?
Wondering what is your biggest facebook pet peeve?
Mine - When someone posts a dramatic mysterious status and you ask what is up and they never get back to you or they do and its not drama worthy.
For example: My cousin posts yesterday on her status, I AM DEVASTATED!!
I think oh no something really bad has happened and instantly start to worry. So I call her, no answer, I leave a voicemail. Never calls me back. Today I get a email from her saying, "I got your voicemail. Don't worry, I was just upset because Camry (her daughter) peed on the floor."
WTF? This happens quite a bit with a couple different people so its annoying. I recently discovered the "Hide" function. Its awesome.

Me too! I have a few people who do that. One in particular kept posting pictures of their toddler son in the hospital and mysterious postings about how much pain he was in, but never answered any of the dozens of "oh my goodness, what's wrong?" posts from friends and family members (including my husband, who was family). If you don't want to talk about it, don't post it.
Another "friend" keeps posting weird song lyrics to her status, all day long. When they verge on suicidal/depressing people always ask her what's wrong and she always responds "Nothing, it's just a line in a song on the radio. Why do people always assume something is wrong? blah blah blah"- here's a hint, quit posting weird comments to your status about how life sucks and people wont assume something is wrong.
My teenaged couisn does the melodramatic status thing. Once she posted that she was "FVCKING DEPRESSED" and I messaged her all concerned, and she replied "lol I just miss my friends." Oh, okay... But I can sort of forgive her because she's young. However, I also have a 40-year-old relative who posts stupid, overly personal crap in her status. I often want to tell her to grow up.
I despise all of my friends' application notifications, so I hide all of those.
I hate how people assume that your status is about them.
Anyone who knows me knows that if I have something to say about them, I will surely say it to their face. I certainly will not be so passive-aggresive about it. Yeesh.

My pet peeve is all the invites to the applications people send me. I've said no to the last 20 you sent me and sent you a message asking not be invited. YET you still do it. UGH!
The hide function is a wonderful thing! I just purged a bunch of friends again. SO satisfying

Ya, I purged a bunch of "friends" too. I went from about 150 to about 35 a year ago and have slowly crept up to 50. I try to only have people that I actually use Facebook to communicate with or far away relatives. It really has made Facebook way more enjoyable. I am thinking about permanently shutting down my account though.

I hate how people take it so seriously. I unfriended someone I never talked to, then she said it was uncalled for and now we aren't friends at all. She wanted to know what she did to make me so mad. Nothing, we havent talked in years.
And a spin off to the language...DH left his FB up and I changed his status to "Go penguins Go" while they were playing the habs. One of his friends responded Fvck You! And then another friend commented on the language and I started a fight between the 2 of them.
Hmmm... then you guys might be annoyed with me... I hate it when I post a cryptic status (i.e. something that the insiders in my life - DH - would understand) and then I have a gabillion people asking me what my status means... if you don't understand, then clearly you weren't meant to!
Ahaha, good to have to other side of the story!
