Best Anniversary Gift He Could Get :-)
ORDERS!
Yeah, its a week early...but they are in.
Next stop: San Diego!
DH has been there since April, but now once our ducks are in a row the dog and I can join him. So excited!
No idea when we'll do the move. Will depend on coordinating movers, giving my job notice, getting a place over there and when/if he can get leave to join me for the drive across with the dog. I'm so game to do the drive solo though. Yay for the end of the separation being in sight!

Thanks! I'm so flipping excited. We've been jerked around for almost a year now with this and have spent about half our marriage apart. Par for the course given his job, but still. I can't even put into words how excited I am to get to see him on a regular basis again and to have some semblance of a "normal" life.
I am freaked out about walking away from my job with no job out there yet. Really freaked about that one given the economy, but sometimes you just have to hold your breath and make that leap.

He actually commented on that when he emailed them to me.

Thanks all!
I'm secretly loving that I know I'll be giving my notice soon at work. Job has been phasing me out for months now and I'm so ready to move on. No job lined up for California yet, which is really freaking me out, but it will be so nice to not have our lives on hold anymore.
I'm starting to get excited about my pre-move visit to New England and then the drive west from there with our dog. We'll be taking a northernish route, probably I90 to Chicago (I'm so stopping at Niagra Falls!)...from there I'm up for suggestions. Am leaning towards cutting through Colorado in some way as I have friends in Breckenridge. Any thoughts???

I'm a little late but still wanted to say congrats on the good news! It's great that you will finally get to be in the same place. And San Diego is amazing - I would love to go back there again.
