Nestie Cocktail Recipes

I order to keep Terp happy, we better give her some more cocktail recipes to try out!  And I wouldn't mind being a taste-tester either! Drinks

What cocktails are you looking forward to making this summer???

Re: Nestie Cocktail Recipes

  • I had a blackberry mojito at Michael Dean's a while back and hope to make them at some point this summer.  It had a blackberry syrup (I might use raspberry) with rum, mint, a piece of sugar cane and splash of sprite.  Yummy!!!
  • I would also highly recommend the sangria (both white and red) that comes in the box at Target.  It is so delicious and cheap!
  • OMG!  I can't even believe I didn't mention our "house drink"- Tizzies.  Yes, apparently we drink enough to have a house drink!  Or maybe it is the neighbors that actually are drinking that much since they are always the ones requesting it!  Anyway, you take Izze (any flavor but our preference is pomegranate) and you pour in Vodka.  We usually do a 2:1 ratio and then later in the night it is more 1:1.  Delicious!

In case you don't know the gloriousness of Izze, they are fruit juice mixed with carbonated water.  So really they are quite healthy!   They come in all sorts of flavors.  We usually buy them in the can at Target.

  • I love Malibu + pineapple juice. Definitely summery!

I've also been experimenting with making white sangria. Yesterday I made it with 1 bottle of white wine (Riesling), 1/4 cup brandy, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup fruit juice, 1 cup club soda, plus some sliced fruit. It was super yummy! (It's also better if you make it a few hours ahead so that the flavors have time to "get used to each other" as my mom would say.)

  • We bought pomegranate vodka over the weekend and mixed it with simply limeade and cran/pom juice.  Very yummy & summery.

We also went with our new standard after beach drink: firefly with lemonade & a little water.
