Irritated
This weekend we had 4 family birthday celebrations. Friday immediately after work, Saturday afternoon, Sunday all-freakin-day, and yesterday afternoon.
Well every Tuesday we also plan to get together with one of our parents (it switches off) for dinner either at our house or theirs. This Tuesday my in-laws are coming over to our house for dinner and they want to try to make it for Taco Tuesday up the street that ends at 7pm. So they've decided that they're going to come to our house early so that they don't miss it like they did last time. I'm so irritated that they'll be at my house before I even get out of work because now I won't have any time to unwind from work.
I almost want to say something to them like look, we were with you practically every day this weekend and we need a little break. A least give me a half hour to change, relax, get cleaned up and then invade my house.
Sorry to vent it's just been a long weekend.

I totally get why you're irritated! I hate it when plans unfold that way. I need time to decompress between work & everything else.

I am so with you on that one! I like to get home, put my work stuff away, get organized, etc. before any one comes over. I usually tell friends/family a half hour after I get home so I can have my "decompress" time.

That's exactly what I do too. This time though they're sending BIL over at 4 (whaaat?) and the rest are showing up at 5:30. Next thing you know, I'm going to get a call to just meet them at the restaurant as soon as I get off. Crap, they might actually try that one. I should call DH and put my foot down before they even try.
But I think that's a good one Natalie. And a margarita is definitely in order as well.

I actually think this would be the best situation of all. Why? Because I would still go home first for my half hour while they're all at the restaurant and out of my hair.
Awwww. Sorry. I don't blame you, I'd want some time 'off' as well and I HATE when people are in my home when Aaron and I aren't there.
