Land surveyors?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a private/residential land surveyor in Cincinnati?  I have called a couple local places, but they want upwards of $500!  Is this the norm?  TIA.

Re: Land surveyors?

  • Yes, for a basic survey, it can range from $400 to a couple thousand dollars. It all depends on what you need, how detailed you want it to be, and if you're wanting it certified or registered.

  • I feel your pain - we need our property lines marked for a fence we're having installed, and the first estimate was $800! I nearly crapped a brick. We are having Ellison Surveying do ours. We were quoted $300, and they will complete it this week. So far, on the phone, they have been VERY professional and helpful. I can't speak for their actual work, but the fence company that's installing our fence recommended them, and they were the least expensive of the companies we contacted. I can give you their number if you like, he gave me an estimate right over the phone. Let me know, and good luck!

I would love to have the number, thank you!

  • We used Greg Koopman (found him on Angie's List) to do a survey for our fence -- $350 and he was very responsive, and walked my husband all the way through what he was doing -- he preferred we be there so he could give us all the details while he was there. Highly recommend!

Thanks for the recommendation Brummy!  We used his services this weekend and were thrilled with how quickly he could come, and the survey went great!  Thanks again :)
