(regr)etsy

So I was looking around on regretsy and came across this: http://www.regretsy.com/2010/04/26/rugrat/  Click on "View it in a room."  That's my new desktop background, hahah!

Sort of related: has anyone ever had an Etsy shop?  I know Bellebride just opened one, but has anyone had one for some time? I was thinking of starting one but Etsy takes a cut and PayPal takes a cut per transaction, so I  was wondering if anyone knew if that ended up being a lot of fees in the end.

No, I have no idea what I would sell.  A trip to Michael's is in order for inspiration.

  • hahahahahaha!!! wtf?!?

i don't know anything about an etsy shop though :(

  • hahaha I've never heard of regretsy, that's hilarious! And wtf is up with the toy in the foreground of the "view it in a room" scene? The thing with black hair, eyes, and a nose but looks really vulgar!
  • Yeah I have NO idea what that thing is.  It's creepy, but thankfully my desktop cuts that out.

That is sooo creepy!I got an etsy account last fall when I found myself designing wedding monograms for several brides on the knot (http://splendidperspective.etsy.com). At first I did a few for people just to help out, but when more and more people started asking me I figured I would see if I could sell them. The etsy and paypal fees weren't too bad, but ultimately I decided to stop because the amount of time it took me to make them was far greater than the amount of money I could reasonably charge.
