Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

UGH Vent (my car) - long and pointless lol
so last week my car started squeaking and i was having trouble with the power steering and i had a small fluid leak. it just ran out of warranty (over 5 yrs old and 80k miles) and so my pocketbook told me to go to a regular mechanic even though my brain said to go to the dealership. so my pocketbook won and i brought my car to a mechanic.
it ended up being (according to mechanic) that the leak was dripping onto the alternator belt, so he fixed the leak and changed the belt. it cost over $500. when he called to say it was ready, he told me that i may hear a small squeak because he needed another part but no one in town had said part. he said it would not strand me on the side of the road, but if it aggravated me to call him and he would order the part.
1 week later and the car not only has a squeak, but it sounds like a pack of cats are fighting in my engine. it is so loud that my neighbor came outside yesterday and asked what was going on. i still have problems with steering it, and now it is struggling to start and my radio resets the cds everytime the car powers up. it is in MUCH worse shape than when i brought it a week ago.
so back to the shop it goes. and now we have to fight them to not charge us extra to fix it. my brain is telling me 'i told you so' as to bringing it to the dealership. i would have paid more $, but it would be fixed right now. ARG i hate this!
