Im a really picky eater, you all know that
Well, I just finished browning the ground beef for DH to make sloppy joes (from scratch). The more I cook and try to eat it, the more I dont want to eat ground beef. The sight of it makes my stomach turn.
Is it bad I have no clue if DH's sloppy joe's even taste good? LOL, I can't bring myself to taste it (DH isnt here to be my taste tester).
Re: yucky
I am beginning to hate ground beef as that is what we have a lot in our house. George and I talked last night that it was getting harder for me to make menus as I feel like we have the same things every week because he really only likes beef. I think I might actually try a chicken receipe this time.
He grew up on fried potatoes, pinto beans, etc and I have no clue how to make all that. If anyone has receipes for fried potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread (without sugar), or anything like that I would appreciate it.
For pinto beans:
Use your crockpot, put in a bag of dried pinto beans, and a ham bone (I LOVE using the ham bone from a honey baked ham), and then cover with water. Cook all day, they are SO good
BTW, never salt or pepper or put onions in your bean while they are cooking, always do this to your individual serving.
Fried potatoes are easy, my Dad makes them all the time. Peel and diced potatoes, dice onions. Oil your skillet with veg. oil (cast iron if you have it). Put the heat on medium. Saute your onions in the oil. THrow your potatoes in the skillet and let sit- dont turn for a little bit. After letting them sit for a while, flip in sections with your spatula.
I bet he would love what we call beef hash (using leftover cubed beef roast and fried potatoes). Let me know if you want the recipe.
