So, after I got the ol' "thanks for sharing," (and, uhh, told pretty much everyone one I know about it, ha ha!), one of my very wise close friends suggested I not press him into a conversation about it. She thought that might cause him to feel pressured to tell me before he was ready, and I didn't want that! I decided to go with her plan for as long as I could stand it.
A day or two later, he and I got into a stupid argument. The details are distracting, but basically we were arguing over who likes the other person more.
This seems like a "contest" I would win, right? Except he thought I only told him ILY because he had somehow pressured me into saying it. Because, he said, I must have known that he's loved me for a long time, even though he was afraid to tell me because he didn't know if I would tell him back. Which naturally led to a talk about how it is best to use your words in addition to being a super awesome boyfriend.

Yes, he totally is! I've developed a whole new understanding of how he can be the age he is without ever marrying. Well, that and knowledge about a couple of crazy beeyatches who were his past long-term girlfriends!
