Poor Satchel...or poor me!

We're boarding Satchel for the weekend while we're gone.  It's breaking my heart to think of him there!  I know I shouldn't worry...it's at our vet (and he loves going there, and the people who work there are great).  I'm sure they'll take very good care of him, and they have a big play area where they let the dogs go.

But what if he doesn't like it?  What if he gets lonely?  What if he misses us?  Being able to hear other dogs but not see them makes him nervous...what if this is what his kennel is like?

I know...these are all ridiculous things, and he's going to be fine...but I have to drop him off by myself this afternoon, and I have a feeling I'm going to cry.  I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.  Crying

Awww, he will be fine :)  He will probably enjoy it.  My sister boards her dog at the vet too, when she took him the first time he was so excited jumping around he peed on the floor in the waiting room, LOL!!!

Hope you have a safe and fun trip!

  • Aww sorry, that does sound hard. I'm sure he'll have fun playing with the other dogs but I understand how you feel! You're not ridiculous!
  • we board Lilly at our vet too. She does great. She's always happy to see us and doesn't act up once we are home in revenge. She always comes home smelling all nice b/c they bathe them.

He will be fine. Don't worry! I always felt better about using the vet rather than independent boarders.

  • aww i feel your pain. i know the few times we have left maggie mil has kept her. i know she is in good hands but it still breaks my heart when she is jumping at the fence and i can hear her whining.

the first time we left her we went to hawaii for 8 days. i took all kinds of pictures to look at and called mil everyday to check on her.

if i am like this with a dog what am i going to be like when i have kids?
