Jesus, I feel like I've been made to stand in the corner for the last few days. Thanks Nest.com. Stupid technical issues.
Anyway, here's everything I've wanted to say for the past two days:
1) Kristen Stewart should not apologize for her rape comment.
2) Thank God it's Friday. Short weeks are the worst!
3) I like the celeb look alike idea.
4) I greatly enjoy the latest Hyperbole and a Half blog.
5) Reine and Foto, your kitties are AH-dorable! ![]()
6) Finally listened to This American Life... downloaded the Urban Legends episode, and now am slightly paranoid about going to the bathroom.
7) Also listened to Savage Love. Not as funny as I was hoping it would be but it helped pass the time in the car.
.... okay... I think I'm good. It's good to be back.
Re: Word Vomit
Kristen Stewart was talking about life in the spotlight and compared the constant badgering and invasive questioning by the paparazzi to rape. Here's a quote from the foxnews story:
?It's so... The photos are so? I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it,? the 20-year-old actress said when asked how she feels about being photographed in her everyday life. ?I never expected that this would be my life.?
This apparently upset rape crisis groups because they think she's being insensitive to rape victims or that she's using the term improperly, or something. Frankly, I don't think the term "rape" is off limits to non-rape victims, nor do I think it should be blacklisted from usable metaphors or exaggerations. Kristen Stewart was not downplaying rape or taking the voices away from rape victims. I just think this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion.
