Post wedding chop...PIP

Has anyone else chopped their hair after the wedding?! I chopped mine on Thursday and now it's so much easier to manage."image"

Re: Post wedding chop...PIP

  • For some reason I can't see your pic.  (EDITED to add:  Oh THERE it is, soooo cute, I LOVE that cut!)

I've thought about doing the wife chop, and even talked about it to HH.  He REALLY doesn't want me to.  He LOOOOVES my long hair.  It's almost the longest it's been ever; it goes below my bra line in the back.  I've considered letting it grow to my waist or even to my butt before I chop it...we'll see.  That'd probably be a whole 'nother year at least.  Although, if we get pg in the next year, it's likely to grow a lot faster, and my hair is always nicer - thicker - when I'm pg.

I'd like to donate to Locks of Love if/when I get it cut, so I need to make sure it's at least 10" long. :)

  • Thank you. Yea, I was debating about letting it grow longer but I just couldn't handle it with the heat in PA this year. So I decided to do what would make my life much easier in the mornings and in general. HH loves it and is glad that I'm happier with my hair.

Haha, I want to get my hair cut, but I always hesitate to chop it in the summer because I love being able to throw it up in a ponytail and get if off of my neck!

I'm thinking I need to call my hair lady when I get home next week, though.

  • Kelly-I didn't realize you lived in PA. Has it been hot where you are?! It's been the hottest this year since I've lived here. Mine is still long enough to pull back, that's what it didn't go any shorter Wink

Plenty hot, but not brutal yet. Highs in the low-to-mid-80's but muggy! Thank goodness it hasn't been worse-- our central air died before Memorial Day and we're still waiting for the landlord to put the new unit in.

I think you get the heat worse on your end of the state than we do here. I'm in the foothills of the mountains, so it's not quite as hot here as in PGH, either.

At least you "had" central air. Our house is 60 years old and we have window units booooo

  • I am waiting until we do some post-wedding pics then my hair is gonna be SHORT.  I'm talking from just below my shoulders to jaw length.  I can't wait.  It has been years since I had short hair!
  • Very cute!!!?

I'm cutting mine next Saturday!! ?It's more than 3/4 of the way down my back right now, and I'm cutting it to about my shoulders.

  • Both of your girls hair looks great! Mine was to my shoulders to begin with but I did get it trimmed after the wedding. I really need to get my highlights re-done though so I'll be doing that in a couple weeks.

  • I plan to get the post-wedding chop in the next couple of weeks! My hair right now is the same length it was when I donated it a little over a year ago! I hope to be able to donate it again this time! I'm VERY excited about getting it cut and am planning to have it cut similar to the pics posted above! :) Congrats girls!

  • I think it looks super cute. I usually keep mine around my shoulders. It's never to long and long enough to through back into a ponytail. I know that it's "to long" if I start playing with it with my hands while talking lol. Then I know I need to get at least an inch cut off and then it's sitting on my shoulders. I'm due for another cut soon. My hair is just so flippin thick so unless I straighten my hair I look like whoa. :)

  • I chopped mine on Wednesday (4 days after the wedding!!!) It was just too long and desperately needed a chop. I don't havea picture yet, though.

I likethe two cuts I see on here- very cute ladies!!

  • No chop for me!  Anytime I've cut it to my shoulders, I've started growing it out again within a few months.  I think long hair suits me much better than short.

  • YES i'm planning on going sometime this week and getting my hair cut short...from partway down my back to probably chin length.  Thankfully, my hubby is fine with it and has actually been helping me "look" for styles.  I'm probably going all one length, as it is now, just much shorter.  I'm so glad he's finally okay with me cutting my hair - he knows it grows back :-)

All of your cuts look adorable!

Thanks Amanda! You have to load to shutterfly or some program like that and then click the tree and copy the link that has IMG in it.

  • i do not like thatHmm i like it better when i could click and pull it off my computer!

i will have to figure out how to get into my shutterfly account, i don't really use it at all

  • I usually make the big chop about once a year, and it's usually pretty drastic.  Right now I need it to be long so I can make it through the hot NC summer.  I like it when I straighten it, but I wish I didn't have to do that everytime I wear it down!!  Oh well...I'll trim it soon and then probably chop it in the fall/winter.  Problem with short hair is that I actually have to do something with it before work and I usually run close with time in the AM.

  • I did my chop the week after the wedding, I also got keratin straightening so it is super easy to manage! :)
  • Your hair looks great although i can't imagine doing it! I wear it up most of the time but I just love my length! Its crazy in the summer it was 110 yesterday and the hair was killing me as it is very thick. Hmmm I think DH would be heartbroken if I cut it off though!
