I feel like Michael Jackson

I've been pretty sick the past few days and have gone through a record number of tissues (at least 4 complete boxes and working on a few more).  So my nose is incredibly red and chapped and now has started peeling.  Really the peeling Michael Jackson nose is hot!  I know you are jealous! Stick out tongue

There's my random confession for the day!  What's yours?

  • My ankle looks like it belongs in the Macys day parade.  I should be floating right behind Stewie.

  • I've only told Squesh but my migraines have been getting weirder. Like neck pain and feel like my eyes are bugging out when I look to far to the left or right. I have a call into my neurologist.
  • Red noses are the worst. I learned the hard way that I'm allergic to the lotion that is put in some tissues.

DH and I have been staining and painting our deck and screened-in porch. The stained part (floor) looks great. The painted part (railings) looked so bad that DH and I ripped out part of our deck last night and DH is at home today fixing it. This whole project has been a nightmare, and is taking a lot longer than we imagined.

  • Shh, we had the same problem with our deck.  The floor looked pretty good (although we need to do some touch up this year), but we had such a hard time with the railings.  The paint/stain stuff we were using was super runny and kept dripping all over the floor, which was not cool.  We finally said it was good enough and just gave up. And really it was good enough, no one else notices the drips or spots we missed.  Hopefully this year we will be able to do some touch-up work on it so it doesn't continue to drive us nuts.
  • I'm hoping the darker stain will look and work better. We tried white stain on the railings, which brought out ever crack, and we were having to be extremely careful to not touch the floor part. It was awful. I told DH never again.

This is exactly what we did!  I like how the white looks, but it is such a pain.  DH worked on ours for over 3 weeks last year and there are still spots that are missed.  It definitely was a super frustrating process.  I told DH our next deck I want to be that fake wood vinyl stuff so we never have to stain it.

  • We actually went and priced the vinyl stuff yesterday. It wasn't so bad, maybe something to do when it comes time to stain again. The composite stuff was very expensive though.
