TMI Clicky Poll: settle a dispute for me

DH & I disagree.

Don't care about what any study says, I want real answers from real women.

Made it clicky so hopefully no one will feel too bashful to answer.

TIA![Poll]

Re: TMI Clicky Poll: settle a dispute for me

  • I voted, but just so you know, research studies get their answers from "real women." ;) So if you're just looking for numbers, a study with randomized participants is going to give you more accurate results than a poll like this in which participants are self-selected.

  • I don't know what study you're looking at, but I think you might want to clarify your question. I voted yes, but for many women, who can achieve an orgasm during vaginal intercourse, they are receiving their stimulation from their clitoris, not their g-spot. So if you're looking to find out whether the average woman can achieve an orgasm without clitoral stimulation, a true vaginal orgasm, your question is a bit muddled. Otherwise, it's just fine.
  • Well this post certainly got some attention for our boring board!  Although 800+ views compared to 250-ish votes Huh?  Sure some people are checking back but remember, only you can see your response.

Anyway, the results really don't matter, nor does the path to satisfaction, just that you're both willing to work towards a good end!  And if one partner isn't willing to do what needs to be done or if you're one of the people who voted "never," well, please talk to your ob/gyn.  He or she can make sure everything is working properly or refer you to a specialist.

Also, I think Freud really messed people up in regards to orgasm.  Maybe that's part of the issue in this debate.

Forty-eight thumbs up to this post!

Kyfirewife: The real issue here sounds as if you and H might not be on the same page in the bedroom and not respecting the other's needs. I am thinking a frank discussion had by the two of you with your OBGYN might be more beneficial for coming to an understanding of each other physiologically than any unscientific poll on the Nest. Ultimately, satisfying one's partner and having fun together should be the priority, how that gets accomplished should be pretty irrelevant.

I couldn't help but think of Freud too Daves! The whole "clitoral orgasm is the immature orgasm and vaginal orgasm is the mature orgasm" nonsense.

  • First-I wrote my response way before I read any other responses to this poll.  My words are just my thoughts, not a flame, criticism, diatribe on TMI, etc.

Second, I feel for anyone who isn't happy in any aspect of a relationship.  A whole bunch of people have voted in this poll, even more have looked, and based on the results it's obvious that  some of the readers are not happy in the bedroom.  Life is too short to shortchange yourself this way!   I don't care what floats your boat, just that it makes you & your partner happy.

I will now leave the psychology to trained professionals!
