crap

I don't know why this is surprising, it shouldn't be...

Pediatricians office just called. They were copied on the results of Ethan's kidney function tests done last week. They wanted us to come in ASAP to discuss them.

I told the receptionist that we were dealing with Children's so they'd probably get back to us, and she said "You're dealing with Biochemical Diseases, right? The Dr wants to get you in to see a nephrologist as well." I told her that Biochemical Diseases had already referred us to a nephrologist and she said okay, then I didn't need to come in to see the ped,she was just making sure.

$hit. I'm thinking that the test results last week were really bad, worse than the last round? They didn't call last time... obviously the doctor saw these results and was afraid Children's wasn't doing their job...

Now I'm kicking myself for not making an appointment with the ped. I could probably get in to see her today or tomorrow... have some answers...

  • Sh!t.  Maybe call back and book the app't?  hope you get some answers soon.
  • I ended up calling the doc in biochemical diseases. She said that his urine was the same- high calcium, high protein, high other stuff- but she wanted to repeat the bloodwork. She didnt really say why. Makes me wonder what was in that bloodwork that freaked out the pedi and the biochemical diseases doc thinks is a mistake...?

Maybe try not to freak out too much?? Like yes there is a problem, but maybe the number they are really worried about is a mistake. I got called back to the doc's after blood work for liver function, and I got re-tested and the numbers were normal. The original number was like 100x normal. goodluck
