I love your new siggy pic.  Ethan looks like he's quite the ham in front of the camera.  Hope you are feeling now that you're getting out of the first trimester.

  • Thank you!  Ethan is a ham but has recently started freaking out when he sees the camera b/c he wants to look at pictures and push buttons.  Some recent pics have his crying face vs. smiling!  He's definitely a child of the digital age.  He already knows that he can see the picture right after I take it.  The m/s is letting up some during the day as long as I keep eating every couple hours.  The nights are still awful but hopefully that will end soon.

I read your FB updates about your travels back to PA.  How did your DH's interview go?  Any idea on when he'll hear about the position?  I've been thinking about you and hope things move in the direction that you'd like.  I also hope you are readjusting to the AZ temps.  It's been a year this week since we were out there.  I'd really love to visit my SIL in AZ this summer but I don't think we'll be able to.  She's still trying to convince us to move out there!

  • Glad to hear that things are letting up a bit with the m/s, and hoping that your nights will start get better soon!

Thanks for asking about DH's job stuff.  I've been hesitating to post anything for fear of jinxing things.  He ended up having 3 interviews while we were back there.  He drove 3 hours to NJ one day only to have the guy stand him up, then after a phone call interview a few days later the guy said they weren't hiring.  So...why did they post the job ad?  The following day he hopped on a plane to St. Louis from Harrisburg to have a lunch interview and he returned later that same day.  That went well, and he should hear something this week.  St. Louis is where his sister's family lives, so even though I'd be disappointed to be far from my family still, at least we'd be near his side.

Then later that same week we all drove out to Pittsburgh for the final and most promising interview.  We were really hoping that he'd get an offer while he was there, but the guy still said that he didn't have enough new work to make an offer.  However, he said that he planned to hire Andrew when he did hear about the projects in the pipeline.  Fastforward to two days before we were scheduled to fly back to AZ, and we're out at the Yellow Breeches creek near LA Park literally wading in the water with DS splashing away, and Andrew gets a call from this guy.  He said that he's 80% sure he's going to make an offer by June 16th just waiting for the official go ahead on the projects.  He told us to go back to AZ and plan as if we were given an offer.  So here we are busy trying to clean an declutter our house.  We have two realtors coming in this week, and are hoping to get our house on the market as soon as we get the official go ahead.

Let's just say that I'm going to be devastated if this doesn't work out.  I now understand how you could get easily frustrated with the process of selling a house since it takes so much for and emotional investment to get started.  What ended up happening with your showings from a week or so ago?

  • Wow, it sounds like your DH was really busy traveling while you were back East.  Too bad about the time wasted with the NJ trip.  I would have been so irritated!  I really hope the Pittsburgh option pans out!  It sounds promising!!  You'll have to keep us updated.  I completely understand not wanting to jinx it.  Good luck with getting your house ready for listing!  Sending positive thoughts that this all works out.  I imagine that it's very difficult being so far away from your family, especially with a child.

The showings went well, thanks!  We received an offer, countered a few times, and are under contract again.  Although, there are more contingencies with this contract... she has to sell her house and we have to find suitable housing.  We will still market our house too.  I was hoping to be done with showings but who knows if we'll get an even better offer.  The current buyer would have the opportunity to match any better offers.  We aren't getting our hopes up though ... and are completely ok with staying and trying to sell again next Spring if we don't find a house by the Fall.  So far we haven't found anything for us but maybe we will this Summer.

Hope everything continues to move along for you!

  • Fortunately we have my inlaws right here to help out.  Caleb has been spending the mornings with them otherwise I don't know how we'd ever get things ready for listing.

Glad to hear that your showings went well and resulted in a contract.  Hope things will stick and that your house hunt will go a lot smoother this time.  Good luck!
