wah wah wah

I'm trying to contain my green eyes of jealousy - they're ugly.

We have some very close friends who live in Colorado. Tonight I just found out a couple of our other friends are set to move to CO in July. One of our other friends moved there last month. These are all people from the same circle of friends. We have been wanting to move to CO for a while now. I'M SO JEALOUS.

We both really need to get our sh!t together so we can find good jobs and move.

p.s.: I am also very, genuinely excited for my friends who have & are making the big move. It's even more fun to go visit everyone now. :)

Re: wah wah wah

  • I'm sorry - I hope you get out there soon!! You know that that is a goal of ours as well, so I understand your feelings!
  • I hear ya, I had ALOT of friends move to CO after college, and I will say in the 10 years since we graduated...all but maybe 1 or 2 have moved back.  It's expensive to live and the pay and available jobs arn't good.  SO... maybe they'll come back?!?!

Hang in there..I know what it feels like!

  • I too have a lot of friends who have moved to CO.  I still have yet to make it out there.  I've been trying to talk DH into moving out west for years!  Actually I have very few "old" friends who have stuck around Indy...I also try to contain my green eyes of jealousy!  I don't think that I do it very well though!
  • I get that way too.  I would LOVE to live somewhere else even for a little while!  I have been in Texas my whole life and I would love the chance to try a new place.
New bio with helpful info for DW knotties!

I've lived in California my whole life. I know there are a lot of people that want to live in CA, like it's one of their goals in life. I get it, I guess. Personally, I really don't like living here. I don't agree with most of what the state does, it's congested everywhere, people everywhere seem in a constant race against time with no thought or regard for other people. Regardless of whether or not Ted & I have kids, I want to live somewhere a little slower, where people say Hello & Good morning, and have basic courtesy.

That's one of my issues with living here - particularly with commuting through DC via public transportation every day. And the worst thing is that I am turning into one of them. I find myself having to remind myself not to be a b!tch some days when someone is walking slow in front of me or if they don't know what they are doing and keeping me from getting to my train!! I don't like what it's doing to me.

Yep, I understand. I have similar worries, and I don't like the person I feel like I'm becoming (or will become if I stay here). It's scary to be able to see that, but also feel like you can't change because if you soften up you'll be eaten alive! lol. Ok, that may be a tad dramatic - but I'm sure you get it.

  • you will be there before you know it!!!

we almost moved there, but decided santa monica is where our heart is.

I have wondered if I lived more of the "So Cal" lifestyle close to the beach, if I would like living here more.
