I am running a half marathon on Saturday. My BFF and I are doing it together and decided to do the early start time (so we'll be running it but starting with the walkers so that we won't come in last...haha).
I may die. If I do, I'll miss you all.
Re: FYI: I am insane
Yes, you are insane.
Good luck

Mandy, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but do you realize how far this is? I may be completely off because I know it's not really discussed anymore, but didn't you have a pretty bad 5k or some ankle problems or something and stop running after that? I don't want to be a Debbie Downer or anything, and some people are capable of just getting up one morning and running 13 miles (very well actually), but a lot people aren't and your risk of injury is increased dramatically. Will you hurt yourself? Maybe, maybe not, but to me - someone who does things like this pretty frequently - it's not worth the risk.
If you decide to go through with this, I strongly suggest you plan to walk the entire thing and give yourself permission to drop out if it's not going well.

Actually, I've been running a lot the past couple months (although in January I did have an ankle issue and wasn't able to run for about 6 weeks). And we have no intention of running the entire thing. We'll probably walk at least half of it. Which is why we are doing the earlier start time - so we will have plenty of time to finish. We're not doing it for time or anything, just to do it.
Thanks for the concern but I'm not worried at all.
That's what I didn't know...last I'd heard you had an ankle issue and that was the end of it.
All I know is that I've spent $125 on an entry fee for Mike for Chicago and I'm not sure he's going to make it now because he took a few months off and then decided he can just up and run 10 miles...and now he has a foot problem that he refuses to go to the doctor for.
Not that I've ever done that (::looking down at my own stupid, messed up foot::)
