I am packing for our trip up to IL for DH's grandpa's funeral. I can wear navy blue, right? I don't have to wear black? I am just having a hard time picking out what to wear. I need two outfits, one for visitation and one for the actual funeral. SInce my current job doesn't require dressy attire I no longer have black slacks. I do have black "fancy" capris. All of my black dresses are not really funeral appropiate, KWIM? What to wear!? Thanks for any suggestions!
Re: Funeral attire
I'm so sorry for your loss.
You don't have to wear black... any conservative outfit that's a dark color would be appropriate. The last funeral I went to was MIL's and I wore a grey knee-length pencil skirt and a black sweater she had given me for Christmas a while back and heels. The heels were a mistake though b/c there were a few times we had to walk through the grass at the cemetary. I remember SIL wore a red flowy top but she was PG at the time and coming from Germany and probably didn't have time to shop for maternity funeral wear. She looked nice though and I didn't think the red was out of place.

Also, I think navy is completely fine.
