so I finally tried...

A green monster smoothie. I was really surprised at how yummy it was. The green color is actually really pretty, not disgusting like I thought it would be. I'm pretty sure these are going to make it into my daily routine.

Re: so I finally tried...

  • really? what was the recipe that you used?
  • I used the basic one on Angela's website (www.greenmonstermovement.com) and it was 2 cups fresh spinach, 1 tbsp flax (I used chia seeds in place of this), 1 cup almond milk, and 1 banana. Blend on high for a minute, then add ice and crush.

Next time I make it I'm going to use frozen strawberries instead of ice. The banana flavor was a little overwhelming at first so I think the strawberries would mellow it out a bit. I also think a little greek yogurt would make it nice and creamy, or some silken tofu.

  • I'm glad you liked it! I love these for a daily breakfast or snack. I put blueberries and chocolate protein powder in it this morning...not so pretty. It kind of freaked me out a little, but it was still delicious!
