What are your summer plans?

This is the first year that we won't be going on vacation due to our renovation and lack of extra $$$.  We'll probably just spend a couple of weekends in Ruidoso going to the race track and hanging out.  I'll be taking summer classes too, so between that and the house, we'll stay pretty busy.  What about you ladies?  Any exciting plans for this summer?

Re: What are your summer plans?

  • Nothing really for us.  Just the house and trying to get it as close to where I want it while staying w/in our teeny budget.  No trips planned - we just got back from Belize last week.  Actually, we're going to Chicago and Vegas in October so I need to save up for those trips.
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

We're not really sure.  Originally, we were going to go to India in teh early fall, but we're having India visa issues.  Because Nikhil's Dad is from India, we can't travel on a tourist visa and have to do a different more expensive/longer process. So Inida may slip to next year.  if it does, we may do a road trip to South Dakota to see Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave, etc.  Although I'm thinking we may do a lot of long weekends - Denver, Taos, Cloudcroft...
  • We have a couple of trips planned- we're leaving for Napa in 2 weeks for 4 days (its my birthday celebration a little early- I turn 30 on July 6th). Then I have to go to Boston the last week in July for work and we're probably going to add on a weekend there too.

Other than that, just house stuff and probably a lot of camping trips. We went this weekend to Torreon and it was awesome!

  • I can post again!

Last weekend we went to Colorado.  We did some shopping, toured the Broncos stadium and participated in the Bolder Boulder 10k.

We will be heading to Maine for a work course then a few days in Boston visiting family.

    Diamond-

    How did the 10K go?

Try to make  it Acadia National Park in maine, if you have time.  Aboslutely beautiful! And in Boston, get a picture of David with the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture in the Boston Commons.  Most kids go ga-ga over teh tiny ducks.

  • It was fun, we just walked it, I wore David on my back.  47,000 people participated, which was pretty amazing after being used to Los Alamos races.  I posted some pics on my blog (should be linked in my siggie).

Unfortunately I don't think that we will have time to head North to Acadia, but a picture with the ducks is a great idea!

  • We have no summer plans. Just working and exploring what NM has to offer.

We are going to Hawaii in October. (We thought we weren't bc I am a financial screw up! LOL but everything worked out and we can still go!)

Then Philly in November. And San Diego in December.

  • We are going to Maine at the end of the month to visit my family...and that's about it!  Probably just weekend camping trips, exploring NM, and weekend trips to Phoenix, I'm sure.  Most of our money is going towards our house right now BUT we really need to start saving for our wedding.  Fun times....
