I'm so excited

XN's birthday is Thursday. I have been struggling with what to give him. I'm taking him to the national Air Force Museum in Ohio on Saturday (which will be a surprise) but I wanted something in hand as well.

Well, I just scored an amazing deal on a brand new KitchenAid stand mixer on Craigslist! Like, close to 75% off of what it would be new in stores.

We didn't register for one when we got married because his parents had an old non-KA mixer that he said would be fine to use (remember, he's the cook). Well, it has NOT been fine. It pretty much sucks. Stick out tongue

So now all I have to do to get this mixer at that price is to drive to Marshall, MI...down by Battle Creek...guess I'm hitting the road this afternoon! Whee!

  • Sweet!  That's an awesome find.
  • That's great! I'm sure he'll be very excited.
  • Sweet!  I asked for a KitchenAid Stand mixer for my birthday next month.  I was price-shopping until DH's Marriot Rewards Points catalog came in the mail and he found out he could get me a mixer using his points!  I was beyond excited!  So is this going to be a surprise for your hubby?

  • Awesome!  I'm jealous too, because there's a super tasty microbrewery, Darkhorse, in Marshall.  If you feel like a beer while you're there you should drop by. :-)

Oooo, awesome!!!  I'm glad you were able to get the beer figured out and the Raspberry is tasty too. :-)  Unfortunately we have a camping trip that weekend otherwise we would so be there.

You two are funny! No beer this time, but Marshall is adorable! (the little I saw of it, that is.) Lots of what appears to be historic houses and buildings. We're going to the air show in Battle Creek over the Fourth of July weekend...now that I know there's a brewery nearby, we might have to take a detour and explore more.

And to answer a question, yes the mixer will be a surprise. So don't tell!
