So CJ and I are wanting to plan a staycation and we want to stay in scottsdale, do you ladies have any recs for a hotel that is nice but also budget friendly. We just a need a weekend away to relax and be all romantical and stuff oh and a pool would be great
Re: Staycation
We stayed at the Doubletree in Scottsdale once for a staycation. It was great and affordable.
The Hyatt Regency is also beautiful and summer rates are awesome!
I used to be a catering manager at the Doubletree. Since it's summer time, their rates will be very good.
Last week I did a Boudoir session at the Hotel Valley Ho. OMG!!! We were in the "Executive Suite" (i think it was the executive anything) and it was SUPER Romantic. Has a big round bathtub in the bedroom. They also have a great spa that I've been to. You may even be able to get a couples massage in your own room if they offer that.
I also REALLY like the Hyatt in Scottsdale. BEAUTIFUL!!! They have Gondola rides that you can go on in the evenings. Singing and all! VERY Romantic.
Jenn, in a previous post I was telling Shannon about the water park resorts. There are three resorts we visit regularly throughout the summer:

http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/PHXSPPR-Pointe-Hilton-Squaw-Peak-Resort-Arizona/index.do
All three resorts have HUGE water parks (slides, lazy rivers, wave pool, etc.)! And they have amazing summer rates, like $79-99/night. Tapatio Cliffs has one of the best restaurants in the country (I think top 25 - its called Point in Time or something), its really romantic. They all have gorg. spas too.
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
i was going to book at the arizona grand, until the nightly rate was more than i wanted to spend and keep in mind they also charge a $30 resort fee per night. that kinda sucks! i was all excited about it too.
dh's birthday is sunday and we will be staying at the valley ho saturday night
jen, the doubletree doesn't have a spa. they have tiny little rooms in the locker rooms where they do massages, but that's it.
however, right next door is the Lamar day spa. I LOOOVE IT!!! I know you can get a couples massage there and you'll have access to the rest of the spa with any treatment you get.
