eye doctor score

I just got back from the eye doctor, and my total bill, after mail in rebate, will be $5!!!!!  I couldn't believe it b/c it usually costs $200-$300 a visit.

My work changed insurance companies last fall, and the new ins company picked up 1/2 of the cost for my contacts.  I also had 2 unopened boxes of extra contacts from last year (long story...had to try many types to find a good one) and exchanging those covered the rest of the cost of the contacts.  Then, my new contacts have a mail in rebate which will cover most of the exam costs.

Wow!  I am still in shock!

That's awesome!!!  And, its great you are able to exchange your unopened boxes of CLs for credit towards your new ones, I have never heard of that before!
  • That is great. I never heard of exchanging but that is good they let you do that.

We don't have vision insurance but because my eye doctor is a medical doctor (not sure the term for an eye doctor) and because of that it is billed as medical and insurance pays for it,,,whooo hoooo
