I was just thinking today about live events, specifically about how I haven't been to a sporting event in a long time. So it got me wondering, when/where/what was your last
(1) concert
(2) theater/art event or show
(3) sporting event

Re: Random Poll: Live Events
I'll go first!
(1) Aug 2009/Pomona, CA/Epicenter 09 (multiple artists, but I was there for Linkin Park)
(2) Nov 2009/San Francisco, CA/Cirque du Soleil Ovo
(3) May 2007/San Jose, CA/SJ Sharks game(1) concert - It's been a while (for me), only because I passed up a few this past year due to fatigue from pregnancy, but the last I remember was Mika at the end of September 2009.
(2) theater/art event or show - probably "Shrek" in NYC in October 2009. I did go a a local fine art fair this past weekend here in my town, but mostly for the food!
(3) sporting event - ummmmm......year and years? I'm sooooo not a sports fan, and I especially have a thing against so-called "professional" sports. I think I maybe went to a Wolves (minor league hockey) game for a college reunion back in 2005ish?
1.) I saw The Sounds (they're a Swedish alt band and one of my favorites) at the 9:30 Club in DC back in September. I was probably one of the best concerts I have ever been to!
2.) I went to see The Trans-Siberian Orchestra just before Christmas last year. I guess it was technically a concert, because they are an orchestra, but they do a lot with lights and dancing, so it was really more of a show.
3.) I am not a sports fan at all. DH did manage to drag me to a Reds game when we were visiting here in Cincinnati last May. That will probably tide me over for the next 5 years or so. Luckily, there aren't any sports teams in Hawaii!
(1) concert Never. I'm not really in to music, to be honest.
(2) theater/art event or show March! I have a pass to the Art Gallery of Ontario, so I go to opening nights all the time. I just saw the King Tut exhibit (huge disappointment)
(3) sporting event: Last Friday! I saw a Blue Jays baseball game against the Yankees. We went to another one a few weeks back. This winter, we also did a Senators' game (hockey), and we have tickets to see TFC (Toronto Football Club - in the MLS) for July 11th.

(1) concert - Good question! I think it may have been James Taylor in Reno about 3 years ago. Sad, because I love concerts, but I just have such a hard time forking over the ticket price.
(2) theater/art event or show - I took my stepdaughter to see Chicago at a theatre in Sacramento in March.
(3) sporting event - grrrrr, last month saw the Sharks get spanked at home in game 2 of the Semifinals for the CupThat's what you get for having Heatley. I was going to freak out if his team actually won the Cup, after he deserted us for someone he thought would win it.

(1) J and I saw Pearl Jam on May 6, and then I flew to Portland the next day to see James Taylor & Carole King with my mom and sister. Both shows were great! We especially love seeing PJ live; if I hadn't flown to OR we would've gone to a few more of their shows in other cities.
(2) We saw Daniel Tosh live back in October. Does that count as a show? Getting J to see a theater show or art exhibit is not easy!
(3) Went to a Blue Jackets (hockey) game last fall. Other than hockey, we attended a Crew (soccer) game like 3 years ago. Can you tell I'm not sporty?
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE LP! I've seen them 4 times (In LA, Tampa, and twice in Vegas.
)
(1) concert
May 2010 - NKOTB at The Pearl
(2) theater/art event or show
Nov 2009 - Cirque du Soleil LOVE
(3) sporting event
Maybe Nov or Dec 2009 - Las Vegas Wranglers hockey game
If that's the same King Tut exhibit that was here in Chicago about a year or so ago, I agree....not worth what I paid to get in!
1) concert - Bon Jovi baby!!! March 2010, I just love Jon Bon Jovi...it's a guilty pleasure
2) theater/art event or show - I went with my office to go see Mighty Phython at the local center for the arts. I'm not into Mighty Phython AT ALL and watching this confirmed it for me.
3) sporting event- Colrado Avalanche game earlier this year. My first actual hockey game and it was so fun. Being from AZ and the Phoenix Coyotes were a new team, I never really watched hocky growing up. Can't wait to go to a baseball game here soon, we just have been too busy to find the time to go. I know for sure we will go when the Cubbies are in town!

I was just thinking today about live events, specifically about how I haven't been to a sporting event in a long time. So it got me wondering, when/where/what was your last
(1) concert - July '09 saw my absolute favourite band Coldplay at The Gorge in George WA. Have to say this is by far one of the nicest outdoor venues I have ever been too!
(2) theater/art event or show - Hot Tub Time Machine staring John Cusak. Man oh man, we laughed sooo much.
(3) sporting event - would love to say hockey, but it wasn't
think it might have been a CFL Football game, the BC Lions on Halloween Night.
Woohoo hockey! That is so great you were able to go, It is such a great energy!
Wow so many times! I'm jealous! Last year was my first time seeing them live. I can't wait to see them live again
I saw LOVE in Aug 2009! Missed you by 3 months!
I really wanted to see the King Tut exhibit and was disappointed that I never got a chance to... good to know I didn't miss much.
Ha, ha...attending concerts and performances (as well as being in both) were my life...literally every weekend for 10+ years! Now that I am a "normal" person I haven't attending much in the past 2 years.
We attended the King Tut exhibit in Dallas in March 2009, saw Kathy Griffin live last summer and also went to the Nutcracker Ballet in December 2008. For work, we have a convention every year that has multiple concerts so I attend those (Oct/Nov every year). Cannot remember the last sporting event I attended...it was probably a Sharks game back in 2006 when I sang the National Anthem for it. Obviously, I've got to get out more!

1. DMB at the Gorge in 08 I think. DH's first time at the Gorge. We camped there for the full experience
2. Nutcracker last Christmas. Yearly tradition regardless of where I live (Seattle's will always be my fav.). Besides that Billy Elliot - W. End London in 06. Can't believe my Europe travel extravaganza was 4 years ago.
3. UW Football - I have season tickets. Not too many sports worth watching in Seattle lately. We do go to triple A baseball quite often b/c DH gets free tickets that include drinks and food, but none this year b/c of the weather.
I tend to go to a lot of stuff-just how i was brought up-
1. Concert-our bowl tickets start up next weekend so this summer we have Babba Maal, Goldfrapp, Jimmy Cliff, and one other concert that I cannot remember. WE recently heard my friend's band common sense. Last summer we saw eric clapton and steve windwood (AMAZING) and we also went to reggae night at the bowl and saw toots and the maytals. Usually I see a couple of concerts at the staples center as well but this year i was not organized. Also saw the christmas concert sweet honey and the rock at disney hall.
2. saw hair in NY in February saw the bengal tiger in the baghdad zoo as part of our theatre subscription at the taper-the play is going to be done on broadway, can't remember the names of the other plays this season but seeing one july 1 and one in september i believe a tenessee williams play glass menagerie maybe. For art i just saw the marina abromovitz exhibit "the artist is present" at the moma super interesting and provacative-also saw the bauhaus exhibit there.
3, Not really a sporting event person unless we head down to the US open of surfing or surf contest. I would however like to go to a laker game so that is on my bucket list.
Also would like to start getting to more classical music concerts and art shows in la.
interesting!
1) ah, my concert days... I remember them fondly. Good question actually. Probably the Keith Urban concert a few years ago.
2) George Carlin (RIP)
3) Probably a hockey game last year?
(1) concert Willie K, last summer at the Waikiki Aquarium. They always put on a series of concerts in the summer to raise money for the aquarium and John and I volunteered at each one (5 in all). It's a great way to see some amazing talent AND get in some volunteering time.
(2) theater/art event or show First Friday in Chinatown in February. We were participating and it just so happened to coincide with the Chinese New Year so it was a crazy celebratory night with not just art but lion dancing, good food, and tons of firecrackers.
(3) sporting event Gosh, it's been AGES. I don't even remember the last one I went to. If I go to a sporting event, it's college volleyball.(1) kokua festival...april
(2) hawaii theater...jack johnson...january (i think)
(3) seahawks game (2 years ago)...too long
ETA: just remembered...eddie aikau in december...best sporting event ever!!!
(1) concert
Keali'i Reichel in Costa Mesa, March 2010
(2) theater/art event or show
I don't remember the last one, but I'm hoping to see The Lion King in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks (crossing fingers
)
(3) sporting event
Years probably, I think it was Clipper game because my mom won 2 tickets and VIP parking passes, but just gave them to us.
1. I think the last concert I went to was Feb '09, John Legend/Estelle. Was going to go to a free Norah Jones outdoor concert tonight but its raining right now,so I passed
2. I saw the Lion King just a couple of weeks ago in May - I absolutely loved it!
3. Mets game in October '09. I'm not big on sporting events although I would like to see a live NFL football game. World Cup in South Africa right now would have been AMAZING!
1. We went to a free concert a the Ozone (one of the free Olympic events) and saw The Dudes and The Stills. I thought The Dudes were pretty good!
2. SATC 2. It was actually better than I thought.
3. Mariners vs. Texas back in May. Mariners lost.
