Good Lord

I'm sorry but Kid Rock is not country! He is the host of the CMT's this year and he is opening the show this year. I think if it was anybody else I might be fine with it, but I am just not a huge fan of him (no offense to people who do like him).

I also hope Matthew McConhey (however you spell his name) is not on there tonight. He is just very cocky and comes across like he is God's gift to women. I like him in movies but his personality on country music awards has turned me off.

I am holding out for Keith Urban's and Carrie Underwood performance. I would have loved to have seen Zac Brown band open up.

Kel-They might have it online after tonight.

    Im so jealous :(

Thanks for the heads up about it possibly being online later though!

  • Leading up to the start of the show, I was sure that Jason Aldean would open the show with "Crazytown," because it would have been appropriate. And I was so sad he didn't win anything last night. I absolutely love him!

I didn't really mind Kid Rock opening the show. The song he did is always a fun song to "start a party," and he's been making a transition into country music for a while now. He addressed that at the end and thanked everyone for welcoming him. As odd as it may sound, he's actually a really talented musician, songwriter, and he can actually sing. And he has country roots that inspired a lot of his older rock songs. I was not, however, a fan of him as a host. He was not funny, and he was sooooo wasted (not just toward the end).

  • I know he has country roots and I do like some of his songs, but if he really wants to make it in the business I wish he would watch his language and other things. I guess I am just old.

I just feel lately that all these people are wanting to get into country or hang around country because it seems like country music is the business that is still hanging on in this economy and they just are not doing it for me. Maybe I am old school and not hype but a lot of the new artists are just not doing it for me.

I do like Jason Aldean and I think that sound would have been a better opener.
