I just replied to your "Good Lord" post about Kid Rock. :-)
I enjoyed them, although I thought they were kinda strange, for some reason. Almost like nobody knew what was going on. Odd transitions, lots of dead time, etc. And I'm sorry, but I cannot stand Melissa Peterson (the host of "The Singing Bee"). She drives me absolutely insane! I do watch The Singing Bee, but I fastforward most of it so I don't have to listen to her.
Did Lady Antebellum ever perform at the end? My DVR cut off, but they had already presented video of the year, Kid Rock was thanking people at the end, etc. I am recording a re-run of the show today, and added like 30 minutes to the end, just in case, but I was really looking forward to them!
I really liked Keith Urban and John Mayer's performance, and I always love the Zac Brown Band since I've been following them for years, and Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert were good.
And I was hoping Luke Bryan would NOT win that new person award, but I had a feeling he would since he won the CMA Horizon Award for that "Do I" song. I don't mind him, but I really like Justin Moore (Small Town USA) and Steel Magnolias.

Lady A performed at the very end and it was pretty good.
Something just seemed off this year. I don't know who wrote the script for this year but it was not good as in year's past. I can't put my finger on it but it was just odd. When they showed the stars their faces were like "WTH" The performances were good but the other stuff was just off.
Keith Urban was great and Carrie was very good.
Melissa Peterson was a little cheesy and I thought the backstage stuff was a little weird.
I just didn't think this year was good and a little disappointed, but they didn't ask me
Oh, remember when Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins won best collaboration for "Hillbilly Bone"? I was happy to see Blake Shelton win one, but I soooo wanted Jason Aldean to win for his collaboration of "Heaven" with Bryan Adams on Crossroads. I have always loved that song, but that version was sooooooo sexy. OMG!
yeah, no one was laughing at the transitional people's "jokes" (that werent all that funny....) and it was a little dead at times. i dont know if i've ever watched the CMT music awards, but it really didnt seem very professional. i guess i'm comparing it to the academy awards though haha
