feeling random??? c'mon in! lol

I have several thoughts that I've been meaning to post but they aren't necessarily related so I'll bunch them in this post and call it random! :)

I have a celebrity hang up (so to speak) that I'm sure is just weird but can't shake it. If I see an actor playing a certain character that stands out to me or sticks with me- they are out of place when playing another role. The first one I noticed was Natalie Portman. She will forever and always be the girl that had the Wal Mart baby. So when she came out in the Star Wars role...the movie was just off...the Wal-Mart baby chick was now in Star Wars?? yikes...weirdness in my head. Another one that came about recently was Toby MacGuire (sp?)...he's Spiderman...we watched Brothers and man, it was a good movie but Spiderman just didn't fit in it...I'm weird, I'll admit it.

I have a new TV addiction that I am now publicly admitting to....J left the TV Keeping Up With the Kardashians (sp?) over the weekend and I was GLUED to the TV. Ok, glued might be an exaggeration but I'm afraid that I'm addicted. I was disappointed that I could not find an episode on last night. Best line of the shows that I watched was when Bruce was fighting with his wife for his ATM card and he said something along the lines of "Give me back my d@mn ATM card!"....this is the first I have said aloud (or in print) that I like this show so it is still has not found its way to my DVR....YIKES!

Ok...so my several is only 2 for now really. I'm sure there will be more to come later.

  • I'm not a picky eater, but I have never liked eggs.  Probably stems from when I was a kid and my mom or grandma would fix us scrambled eggs with no seasoning except a little salt and pepper, if that.  Gah-ROOOSSS.

I've very slowly started to try things with egg in them... a tiny bite of an omlette if the bite consists of mostly cheese/veggies/meat.  A little slice of quiche as to not offend a hostess.  A frittata that has a LOT of heavy cream, cheese and veggies in it.

My confession is that I'm actually starting to like eggs, but I don't want to admit it...

  • I can't eat asparagus for almost the same reason.  We lived on a ranch when I was a kid and asparagus grew wild around the edges of the property.  We had raw asparagus, grilled asparagus, cooked asparagus, creamed asparagus.  I remember sitting at the table for what felt like 2 hours with a strawberry shortcake sitting on the other side of my bowl of asparagus soup knowing I couldn't have it until I finished my food.

I sold my car thinking I knew what I wanted to replace it with.  That didn't work out so now I have no car and no prospects.  I am driving DH's truck in the interim and he's riding w/ friends.  The only problem is I can't fit his truck into the parking garage and have to move it around to avoid being towed.   It's not that the truck itself is huge- it;s just an F-150. The problem is it has a lift and wide tires so I have no idea how big the damn thing is, which makes it difficult for me to drive.  It was easier driving the F-350 bc I knew how big the truck was.   Ugh.

Oh, and I had extra espresso this morning, so I'm a little wired, hence the wordy response.  Sorry.

  • I love Keeping Up With the Kardashians! So much so, my sister and I had a whole conversation about it the other day. The fact that my sister admitted thta she liked it (and swore me to secrecy) cracked me up. My sister and I rarely have anything in common, so this was exciting!

    Randomness:

If you are happy that someone's bad karma came back and bit them in the @ss, you will then have bad karma, right? I'm really trying to feel sad for two people I know (work related) who's bad karma is catching up to them. But damn it's hard, especially when what's happening to them is a almost direct result of screwing me around.

  • I do not move to a different treadmill if Keeping Up with the Kardashians comes on while I'm at the gym. That's all I'm saying.

Randomness: It's been announced that Nathan Fillion will be at Comic Con. I love Nathan Fillion and I have a picture I took with him in 1995, when he wasn't famous for anything but being a hot guy on some soap that my BFF watched (and that I started watching because, as I said, he's hot).  So I have this polaroid of us (we look adorable and so freaking YOUNG) and I kinda want to bring it to ComicCon to be like, "See! I thought you were awesome before Firefly and Castle and Waitress." On the other hand, I don't want to look like a creepy stalker chick, which I'm sure he has plenty of. This is  what I am thinking about today. I am lame.

  • I'm still jealous that Chicklit is going to Comic Con.

  • I'm a weird food eater.  I eat everything separate.  If I'm eating a salad, I'll eat all of the tomatoes, then carrots, then whatever....and eat the lettuce last.  I also will eat a section on my plate, then turn the plate to eat another section......weird, I know.  I also don't like my food to touch each other.  I rarely eat casseroles since ALL of the food is touching each other.  If something is "born that way" (ie; yogurt w/ fruit on the bottom, Reese's peanut butter cups, etc), I'll eat it.  Otherwise, I'd eat is separate.

I'm obsessed with sunless tanning lotion.  I have 7 bottles of different brands and types.  My favorite hands down is the Tinted Bronze from Victoria's Secret.  It has Vitamin E in it and goes on really well, no streaking, and smells a little like coconuts.  Love it!

:gasp: Omg, I'm exactly the same!  It drives DH bananas bc he says I "decorate" my food before I eat it, and then I have to eat in a certain order.  If I put a topping on something, i.e. salsa on a breakfast taco, it has to be exactly even all the way across.  Pb&j has to be the same amount, all the way to the edges.  I eat my sandwich before the potato chips.

I guess my odd food thing is, I almost always leave one small amount on my plate.  I didn't realize I did that until my stepmom pointed it out last year; apparently my dad does the exact same thing.  He didn't raise me though, so it's not a habit I picked up from him. Just odd.

  • ::gasp::  Nathan Fillion?!?  I am green with envy; he's so dreamy!

I have similar weird food rules!  My family regularly buys me plates with dividers to use at holiday meals.  When I first started dating after divorce, I randomly got into a conversation w/ the fam about all my food quirks, and my brother was like "Yeah, never tell a dude about this stuff.  In fact, if I never have to hear about how you alternate which side you chew on again, that will be fine with me."  Embarrassed

We're food twins!!!!  Watch how I eat a cupcake on Friday.  It's bizarre.  Icing first, then outside edges, then the middle cake.  Yep.  I'm a weird-o!

Who doesn't do this?!  (pb & j)!  I just ate my perfect ratio pb & j sandwich for lunch then my bag of blue corn tortilla chips second.  Big Smile
