In the spirit of thank yous, I have an interesting dilema.
One of HH's cousins sent a check as a wedding gift. She lives in PA and HH isn't really close to her, so we were delighted with the gift. I am in the process of writing out my TY's and we got a letter in the mail today from the bank that the check was returned. From the letter, I can't tell if it was returned for insufficent funds or if there was a stop payment on it. I wasn't planning on mentioning it, in case it is for insufficient funds, but I'm not sure what to put on the note. I was thinking to avoid any uncomfortable feelings, I should just say thank you for the gift and not mention the returned check. What you would do in my situation?
-- side note, the cousin is an extended family member and is a little "off," MIL isn't too fond of her to begin with, otherwise I'd ask MIL what to do...
Re: odd thank you question
