My Grandmother's Piano

The first piece of real furniture my grandfather ever bought was a piano for my grandmother. It was always a fixture in their home. My grandmother taught me how to play on it, and as I minored in paino in college I would come and play pieces for my granparents. My grandmother always said that when she was gone she wanted me to have the piano.

Grandmother died before grandaddy (4 years ago) and of course I haven't said a word about the piano. Even though when I go there, I clear it off and play a little. In the years since my grandmother passed grandaddy has said a few times about giving the piano to my nieces. Everytime he says this I always remind him of the all the time grandmother and I spent there.

Yesterday he told me that I can have it now, before he dies. I double checked to make sure he was serious and 100% positive, it's a huge sacriffice in my opinion. he said that he was sure but to give him 3 months to clear it off and find something to put in it's place.

John and I are taking Cletus down over Labor day weekend to meet the whole family and we are coming home with the MT piano (I was named for my grandmother). I am so excited, honored, and humbled by what I consider an honor. I can't wait to teach Cletus how to play.
