so our youngest had his graduation program this morning. It was adorable, he did awesome reading his poem in front of about 100 people (we were worried, he's shy). But the parents, OMG, I wanted to smack them, they wouldn't STFU - seriously the five year olds on stage were perfectly behaved, quiet when they were suppose to be, waiting patiently, but the parents in the audience couldn't follow simple directions or be quiet.
I was so annoyed. They were standing up and yelling at their kids to look at them so they could get pictures while other kids were presenting or reading poems, and when they handed out the diplomas they asked parents to hold the applause until they had presented the whole class, that was too much to ask - they were yelling and whistling, so the kids couldn't hear who was being called and the teacher would stop and wait until the parents were quiet, it was really annoying, don't be "that" parent. When our 5 year old got of stage he said "I wish the grown up's would behave and listen, maybe they need more practice" (he's been practicing this for weeks)
Re: Kindergarten Graduation
Aww I am so glad your son did so well reading his poem, that must have been adorable.
That is so so obnoxious about the parents though, people can be so rude.
People are ridiculous. They said the same thing at our graduation and the principal would actually call those parents out. Eventually it was quiet the rest of the time.
I'm glad to hear he did so well.
I'm glad he did well with reading his poem. I'm sure it was a very proud moment.
