Re: Random Poll

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer? 9 fun-filled days in Scotland

What's something you're thankful for? having DH home

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? Right now, we're staining our porch and deck. Our next project will be working on the yard, disguising our septic tank.

What's your opinion of BP? They suck. I just don't see an end to this whole ordeal. Even if they get the oil to stop to coming out, the clean-up is going to last a very long time.
  • What are you looking forward to most this summer?  a week at the beach, many biking day trips, and hopefully a few weekend trips

What's something you're thankful for? DH, he's been awesome the past few weeks when I've been so sick

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? we are considering painting our bathroom cabinet.  And we are finishing up landscaping in our backyard

What's your opinion of BP? They need to get their act together and I wish they would be doing more to stop the oil from spreading (if that is even possible).  But I refuse to boycott BP gas stations because I feel that will only end up hurting the wrong guy.  And BP gas stations are my absolute favorite- they are always clean and well lit.

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer? Nothing really. I hate the heat and we have no travel plans.  :-(  I'm rather depressed about it.What's something you're thankful for? Air conditioning! Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? Um...no. I'm sort of organizing some stuff & I keep meaning to work on my photos and make some collages, but...What's your opinion of BP? I'm frustrated and want to cry.
  • What are you looking forward to most this summer? Riding on an ambulance full time (well volunteer hours) and being able to ride my motocross bike every weekend

What's something you're thankful for? My DH (for always finding a way to make any crappy day I have better) and my four legged kids

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? We rent our town home, but will be purchasing a garage organization unit shortly to have a place to store and work on our bikes (we do our own oil changes...etc)

What's your opinion of BP? I am with Alethea on this one. I'm really frustrated at the rate they are moving to stop the leak and seeing the damage they are doing just makes me want to Crying

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer? i'm really excited to see my BFF in July, get to meet her baby boy and new hubby! this is friend that moved to Hawaii last year.

What's something you're thankful for? DH of course ;)

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? i'm going to make some new throw pillows for our deck this weekend.

What's your opinion of BP? i just want a solution, so we can all move forward.

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer?  Not teaching

What's something you're thankful for? I got off early today

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what?moving haha

What's your opinion of BP?I wish they'd just fix the problem...

What's something you're thankful for? i am very thankful for DH and the wonderful furbabies that we have been blessed with. also thankful for my family and my new family (well his dad's side)

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? i would like to say NO....but DH has roped me into them. we just bought our house in november and are just now getting time to make it our "home".....this weekend i get to plant flowersWilted Flower....eventually i will get to paint too! yippee!Stick out tongue

What's your opinion of BP? the entire situation saddens me....people died, animals are dying, clean up crews are getting sick, the beaches are closed and contaminated, i just want it all to end

    1. Fourth of July weekend, family members are coming from out of state to celebrate.

    2. My family of course, especially my H aka partner in crime.

    3. Yes, I hate carpet so I'm getting ready to replace all the carpet in my home with hardwood floors.  And of course the little touch-ups here and there to make it feel homie. ;]

    4. Greed, this is what happens when people start getting greedy.  It makes me sick to my stomach.  I can't imagine how this is going to affect the earth even after if ever they get the oil under control.

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer?Spending time with DH and traveling before I get back into the swing of school (assuming I can actually get aid and loans for it. . otherwise it'll be another semester off). Also working around our house and extended out garden :o)

What's something you're thankful for? My DH and his ability to make me feel so special and pretty. He also puts up with my crazies and my need to rescue little critters. I'm thankful for my father being all clear from his cancer check up since beating it last year and I'm thankful that my DH has an awesome job and we don't really have to 'stress' about money (I watch it, but arent paycheck to paycheck).  I'm also very thankful for the sunday school class that we've connected to. It's for engaged-newlyweds and its awesome to be able to talk with others that are going through similar things :o) They're also great couples!!

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what? building more raised gardens, eventually.  We'd like to fence in our yard, but that's not in the budget right now. so just improving our house bit by bit :o)

What's your opinion of BP? Very low right now. My Dad is working over seas right now and he's told me that they're pretty much laughing at the situation. I wish there was a way to fully fix this problem, but the problems from this will last for YEARS and sooo many are / will be affected by it.  I agree with others, makes me want to cry.

  • What are you looking forward to most this summer?  Not really sure, honestly.  We don't really have any "big" plans for the summer, so I just look forward to doing something new each weekend.

What's something you're thankful for?  DH and my kitty that love me unconditionally.

Are you currently doing any home projects? If so, what?  I think we'll be re-doing either our hardwood floors or our chimney this summer (the chimney may just be swept and brought back up to wood burning condition--it has an old gas line in there currently that doesn't really work.)  But nothing current right now.

What's your opinion of BP?  I honestly think this could have happened to any of the big oil companies, but this is the biggest out there and it makes me really sad that they didn't have any sort of safety contingency plan (or a viable one) for this well.  I think we've only seen the most outlaying edges of the devastation that will come from this.  Sadly--and I hope I'm wrong--I think this will take lifetimes to recover from, and I fear that some aquatic species may be completely wiped out from this.  I hope this will waken people's awareness of how/what they do effects the environment.  It only takes 30 seconds to cut down a tree, but it takes an entire lifetime to grow a new one.
