All this baby talk...

...has really gone to my head!  I had a crazy dream last night that I had a baby girl.  I remember thinking in the dream that this wasn't planned and we weren't sure that we were ready for it, but it felt like a blessing all the same.  DH said the same thing (in the dream, I haven't told him about it yet).

This morning I started thinking "is this I sign that I could be preggers, too?" but then I remembered that the baby had an uncanny resemblance to one of our cats in some parts of the dream, so maybe I'm just thinking of our cats as our babies...

My favorite part, though, is that we named the baby Grace.  I really love that name and might have to hang onto it.

Hahaha... you crack me up.  But if it's any consolation, I've been hit with baby fever too.

  • HA she looked like your cat....that was hilarious....and I like Grace.  My dog's name is Gracie.  Wink
  • Awwww.. you just might have baby fever!  Maybe getting your new kitty made you feel that way.  Not going to lie, pregnancy is way harder than I thought, but the benefit at the end will be immeasurable!

  • I secretly cuddle my 50 pound dog (well I try) and pretend that she is a baby and talk to her in my best baby jibberish.  Baby fever?  Possibly...  Stick out tongue

The funny part is that the baby resembled our older, established female kitty, not the new kitten.  They are both excellent cuddlers though Smile

  • Oh I hear ya on the baby fever thing.  DH and I have sort of decided to stop trying to NOT get pg this fall and see what happens.  We're not in a huge rush to start a family but dont' want to wait too long either.  I'm 30 and DH is 31 and both of us want to feel young enough to enjoy our children's childhoods with them!  I waited too long to get my last refill of birth control though so I'm off this month which I think is making it worse.  Stick out tongue It seemed wasteful somehow to go back on the pill and still have to use a backup method of b/c so backup it is this month.

Can't say that I've had dreams about my future children looking like my puppy though.  That is pretty funny!  As a related side-note, my 5 year old cousin is named Grace and everyone calls her Gracie.

  • Oh yeah I have baby fever...I wish I wasn't trying to be so responsible and wait until we are financially set first...ugh

  • We definitely have time, though.  I hear you on the wanting to enjoy your kids' childhoods, but DH and I are 23 and 24, so there's not exactly a ticking clock in the background.  We're going to hold off on trying for a few years, at least.

     Good luck with your seeing-what-happens!

  • Oh I totally hear you on the baby fever! Its awful because a few months ago I was like Babies? NO WAY!!! But something in my brain has switched on (everyone told me that would happen) and I keep thinking about it. My 7 years went down to 5 then down to 3 and now I am just trying to keep it at bay as best as I can. When I think about it logically I know we have to wait. We are 23 & 24 also so we have lots of time and I want us to enjoy this time together. We also haven't bought a house yet and I am still wanting to attend graduate school in 2011. Plus with finances, it would be hard to add a 3 person. But I blame all you pregos on here and ALL. MY. FRIENDS. They either have kids or are knocked up. Haha you people are every where!!!! It makes it so difficult to think logically when there are so many little cuties surrounding me.

I think you all know where I stand on the baby front. DH and I have been actively trying since the beginning of the year with no luck so far. I am 33 and DH is 32, so the clock is ticking loud and clear! FWIW, don't wait too long if you're over 30. You may never feel completely ready, and it may take more time than you expect to actually get pg. We thought we'd be KU right away and now I seem to have stopped ovulating the past 2 months. My point, if you can make it happen and keep your sanity, then go for it!

After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Surprise! The Sequel is due 12.8.14!

  • I think you all know DH and I were not trying...but were not not trying either. Everyone kept telling us there is always going to be a reason to wait and no time will ever be the "right" time. I sometimes wish we had a bit more time (especially with grad school looming over my head!) but, everything will happen in due time.

My boss actually got her masters as a single mom of two kids under 3 (while going through a divorce)...when I worry about how hard going to school is going to be with a LO, I just look at her and realize that anything is possible if you put your heart into it (and I have a super supportive DH who wants me to achieve my career goals)!

So...I guess the moral of my story is don't get too caught up in the logistics of things! And, I'm sorry for inciting baby-fever in anyone Embarrassed.

That's okay!  I have crazy dreams anyway, usually weirder than this one.  But for now, DH and I are going to enjoy our furry babies and continue not trying for at least a few more years.

  • Well I must be the only weirdo on this board without babies on the brain... we are both 27 and no where close to TTC.  All I can think about right now is getting my business going, there's no way a baby would fit into the equation right now. We are so not ready.

That's hilarious about the cat though.  I'm picturing a little baby with a cat's head!

Well, good Munkii.  At least there's the two of us.

  • My daughter has PCOS and has been on Depo shots for 5 years.  She got her last one last month.  She knows it will be hard for her to get KU.  They had long talks about this before the wedding.  The decision was that she'd stop the BC and then if she gets pregnant excellent...if not, then that will be ok too.
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
