The Red Sox

So I am going to Boston next week and I am super excited because I am going to my very first game at Fenway. The Red Sox are playing my home team, the AZ Diamondbacks, so I am excited for that but rather see them play my team, the Dodgers.

But it's Fenway and I am super excited, just thought I'd share.

Anyone else have a favorite ballpark they love?

Re: The Red Sox

  • I am going to Fenway on Saturday. I usually get to go once a year through various work connections.  The seats are small (not a problem for me) and the concourse stinks to high heaven, but there is not a bad seat in the house (unless you are sitting behind a pole lol).

I have only been to a few other parks: Cleveland, Baltimore. They both had nice amenities, but I love the old fashioned feel at Fenway.

  • I have only been to the Rangers stadium and drove by the Astros stadium, but I'm jealous that you get to go to Fenway!!!

  • My husband took his childhood friend to Fenway last month. They are both Yankee fans and his buddy had been to Yankee stadium many times.  Friend loved Fenway --"I've never been so close to the field".  And they were crummy seats.

And, yes, I married a Yankee fan.  It gets challenging during playoffs and can be hard on the children (a think a few more therapy sessions should set them straight.) Stick out tongue But I see past it for the good man he is.

  • My DH and I just went to a Pirates game at PNC Park. It was amazing. It is so neat to look across the river to downtown from the park.

  • Have fun!  We went to Boston a few weeks ago and saw them playing the Yankees- Fenway is definitely awesome and a great experience!
  • Fenway is my favorite ... even my Yankees-loving husband says it's an awesome ballpark. (Take the tour if you can, it's so full of history and neat stories.)

Camden Yards is really cool, too.

I've been to Citizens Bank Park once, the old Yankee Stadium a few times, and I managed to get to one game at Shea Stadium before it closed. I was at RFK Stadium a few times for concerts but never for a ballgame.

I'd love to get out to Wrigley Field someday.

  • I'd love to go to Fenway we just haven't been able to yet

Camden Yards is really nice, I didn't like the Nationals stadium at all

  • I've been to a lot of parks, but my favorite has got to be Camden Yards.
  • I've been to 27 major league baseball stadiums. I'm hoping to get to the Ballpark at Arlington this summer since I haven't added a new one in a while!

PNC Park in Pittsburgh is awesome. I enjoyed Fenway and it was neat to go to old Tiger Stadium simply because of history. Really enjoyed Camden Yards as well, and I'll say Wrigley even though my White Sox-loving husband would give me a big No for that. Smile

    Enjoy Fenway!!

That's really impressive. Are you trying to hit all of them in your lifetime or is it just "accidental" (or do you or a relative work for MLB)?  You only need 3 more to complete the cycle (or 4 if you don't count Old Tiger since it's no longer active.)

    Thanks!

It's on purpose, I grew up in a family of big baseball fans and so when we were younger, our family vacations usually involved road trips to baseball stadiums. As I got older and moved, visited friends at college, traveled for work, etc I've had the chance to see a few more.

There have been a few cities where I've been to 2 stadiums because they get new ones (ie: Pittsburgh, Philly, NY Mets) so I actually need more than 3 cities. It's hard to keep up!

Ok, I just realized my total is 28, I forgot to add Citi Field when I went last year.

Sounds like you need to start a speadsheet!

Wow that is a lot, we are trying to hit them all up.

ANd thanks for all the stories, I am really excited for it, it's almost here.

  • I've only ever been to Fenway, but it's one of my favorite places to be. I love the history and that even the worst seats in the park still have a really good view of the field.
